Market Price for a genuine Rolex 16750? Need some advice

Hi all,

 

Being offer a rolex 16750 Red / Blue insert for $3.2K. Looks to be all original, minor scuffs and scratches but nothing too serious.

 

Service history unknown though.

 

$3.2K seems like a fair deal, thought?

With a bracelet that sounds like a bargain to me.  Without, still a decent price.  If you pass, let me know who's selling it!

+1.  If it's all original, that price is probably about half of what it could get, which would have me equally suspicious and eager.

Ditto the above, good all original one's of these have been up for $7K+ from the usual suspects on TRF/VRF lately. Even average one's make $5k easy.

I see by your profile that you are an Aussie.  Are you talking $3,200 AUS dollars or US dollars?  Big difference.

Sounds like a really nice deal. Matte dials are definitely worth more than the later dial versions. What serial range? And photos please.

Serial is 8 million which puts it to '83 I believe.

Only issue is the endlinks are 593 (for submariner and explorer) and not 580.

 

Otherwise, dial is original matte (looks like Mark I), and keeping great time.

16750...

I had one in the early 1990s and like a dummy I sold it. Have a 1675 now and they look just alike, same case size, bezel etc. The 1675 has been put up so long that it will no longer run, needs c/o. The 16750 had applied tritium dots like a 1675 and R&B insert.

All I have left is the bracelet and clasp from the 16750 but I had it changed over to tutone about 20 years ago.  

Paid $1350 for the 16570 in 'like new' condition 5-20-91 rom a rolex AD, it was a trade in.

 

We need a time machine.
