pam007 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Bought an old beater 5513 about 2 months ago and I replaced the crystal and insert. Do you guys think I should take it further or leave it as is? If so what? Here is the original beater 5513 I bought for $100 Here is the 5513 with a new Clark Tropic 19 and a Mark III FF insert: 1
ww12345 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Looks pretty good! Only thing I might change would be the hands and the crown. The crown looks off in general (standard rep fare) but the minute hand doesn't look long enough or the right profile. Otherwise, everything else, including the dial looks pretty good! What bracelet do you have on there?
ogladio Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Insert was a great upgrade - you were lucky to find one! Would only consider upgrading the crown to Athaya 702.
StormTooper4 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 That's a super insert you got there. I think the upgraded version is the one
pam007 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Report Posted July 28, 2014 Thank You everyone for your feedback I have a Athaya 702 Tube and a Gen 702 crown I was saving for my Tudor 7928 Project. I guess I can put it on my 5513. The bracelet I'm using is a standard rep SS bracelet with a TC 93250 V3 clasp. The clasp looks very convincing Where can I get correct Rep 5513 hand for eta?
dbane883 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Where can I get correct Rep 5513 hand for eta? MY at CWP
highoeyazmuhudee Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 its honestly not bad, id leave it as is and just wear the hell out of it till it dies
pam007 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Report Posted July 28, 2014 The guy I bought it from said that it started out as a 5517. Case and crown guards were softened to resemble a 40 year old watch. It has a Swiss ETA movement. The permanent spring guards were removed and the lug holes were drilled to accept gen fat springbars. I'm not sure on the dial but it's pretty nice from arms length. For $100 I didn't ask much questions lol
