Rwg Melbourne Gtg

Just got back from a really cool little GTG here in Melbourne... Since I forgot my camera, I'll let Quarks and Mike fill in with the photos ;)

Quarks and I got to drop our better halfs off at the Chanel boutique party over on Collins so they could shop for what they wanted for Christmas (lucky for my wallet, nothing really jumped out at my wife :Jumpy: )

Four of us showed up at a nice quiet little bar (except for the photo/fun nazi bar manager  )...

Great conversation and drinks... and watches all over!! Finally got mikefotog and kenberg :thumbsupsmileyanim: to meet

Mike showed us an amazing poster he did a great photoshop job of a 1966 Impala... Very impressive!

In watches, what stood out for me was the amazing PO chrono Ken brought along!!... What a beast that watch is!!! So many nice watches, so few wrists B)

Quarks had an audience with his new Sinn Regulator... A somewhat strange onlooker wanted to buy it right there on the spot :g: Was almost begging for it  In the end, turns up that he just didn't have any money :whistling: And we just had to show ourselves the door :p Oh well...

Afterwards, Aaron, the girls, and I went for some extra spicey yummy Szechuan :thumbsupsmileyanim::thumbsupsmileyanim:

Thanks Ken, for getting this going! Had a great time, hopefully we can do this again sometime in the new year!!!

Well we finally got it together last night and four of us Mikephotog, swdivad, Quarks and myself converged on to Fidles Cigar bar at the Crown Casino complex.

A very pleasant few hours was had by all, with very many watches to look over including some quality pieces from swdivad and Quarks and not to forget the quality conversations.

I personally forgot to take my camera but both Mikephotog and Quarks took many shots, so there will be pic's to go up later although they are all of the watches :)

Quarks is soon to leave our shores but has promised to keep in touch with our group, so I would just like to say I am glad we had a chance to meet and I wish you a safe and uneventful journey home.

As for Mikephotog and swdivad I fully intend to meet these guys on other occassions in the future, but I will say it was a pleasure meeting all of you and to all I wish you a Merry Christmas.

I had an absolute blast at this Melb GTG. As swdivad mentioned, the gals were off to Chanel Party so we can be left alone with our watch gathering... Good one swdivad!!:thumbsupsmileyanim:

We arrived a little late and once we stepped into Fidels, I spotted Ken & Mike and we wasted no time in taking out our watches on the table. :) I would like to express my thanks Kenberg for the Tiffany present and the cap. Mucho gracias! Mikephotog was kind enough to show us the poster photo he did with ken's car and it looks awesome! Well done!! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

The night went on excellent, discussing about watches, straps, cameras, the ongoings in the RWG forum, etc.... We did take a few photos but the fun was dampened by the waitress who mistook our gathering as a watch business sales gathering. Well, she couldn't quite understand what was going on but I managed to steal a few shots before we get chased out.

About an hour or so into the gathering, there was this group of people who showed interest in our timepieces and started enquiring about certain watches we had on the table. Anyhow, there is this one bloke (who acted like a spolit brat btw; worse than my 6 year old cousin), with his eagle eyes, spotted my newly acquired Sinn Regulator 6100 and wanted to 'buy it on the spot'. Like a leech on my back, he kept pushing my buttons by openly blaring out, 'I want this watch, tell me the price. I'll go to the machine and give u the cash. I want this watch RIGHT NOW. C'mon, how much?... blah blah blah' I can't remember how many times he said that (must be about 3896986969697708080 times as I can still hear when I lay myself on the bed last night ) Anyhow, I told him the watch wasnt for sale and he retorted back (about 543476587697 times) with 'Are u sure? Are u sure? I can get the cash for you RIGHT NOW. No box. Just the watch.' Oh well.

Nevertheless, tt was an AWESOME night out. It was great finally meeting Kenberg and Mike. Alas, I wont be around for the next GTG but we will still be keeping in touch. :) If I were to drop by Melb in the future, I hope to hook a GTG up again. And swdivad, gonna miss ya buddy!!! We'll meet again in Thailand, Singapore. :)

Without further ado, here are the pics:-
