Legend
For the rest of us curious Rolex noobs and idiots, can someone please kindly explain what the special deal is? Obviously this is something special but I am just too dumb to realize what it is.

Obviously this is something special but I am just too dumb to realize what it is. Legend, I'm lucky because this watch is still all original from the early 70s and it has the brushed silver date wheel with the flat top 3s. They're just sexy and iconic from that era of early Rolex... and impossible to photograph so they don't look white.
Legend
Thanks kindly for the explanation my friend. It's interesting to learn about the date font history of the most iconic watch brand in the world. Thanks B! Nanuq
Love the 33! Yeah! That's the ultra rare concentric date complication Rolex used for a very short time in the early 60s, there are two date discs side by side, each half the width of the usual disc. In this case it's showing March 3rd.
