dpap Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 I just won this on ebay. Do you guys think this is a gen dial? http://www.ebay.com/itm/151674691394
kbh Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Maybe a re-finished gen dial. Hope you didn't pay asking price. He'll usually take quite a bit less than his asking price. I bought a Serti Sub dial from him a few years ago.
dpap Posted May 15, 2015 Author Report Posted May 15, 2015 By the way, what are the tells? I'm new at this so I'm trying to learn...
ceejay Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Listing says "could be a redial" I don't think you will get a refund.
dpap Posted May 15, 2015 Author Report Posted May 15, 2015 Listing says "could be a redial" I don't think you will get a refund. seller says returns accepted
alligoat Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Just looking at it, the bottom lettering looks lopsided, the 200m- 660ft part and SUBMARINER looks funny also
panerai153 Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Gen plate re dialed Here is a gen blue dial 9411/0 look at the S in submariner in the gen then look at yours! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Beachcomber Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Honestly, if it were a Gen dial it would be more than 200 bucks. And on top of that he says it "may" be a redial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
dpap Posted May 15, 2015 Author Report Posted May 15, 2015 So, you think it looks worse than a HR or Yuki dial? How much do you think this dial should be worth?
monkeypunch Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 45 bucks? Go with the HR dial, it's miles ahead of the one you've shown us.
Beachcomber Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Yep. I guess I will just return it then. how can you return it, the seller said it may be refinished and the price kind of reflected that. Imo you really have no right to return it, caveat emptor my friend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As long the item is in the exact same condition it was when received.
Guest happy123 Posted May 16, 2015 Report Posted May 16, 2015 Great watches! Thanks for sharing them. I am just a newbie intrested in enjoying watches that may be a part of life resently. When I went to a large shopping mall first, and caught sight of a watch branded Hublot,i was fascinated by her functions and structures thoroughly. Then i bought one undoubtedly.According to the forum i hope to make more friends with people who also have the same hobby about watches.

It is up to the seller to choose this policy, and I bid on the dial having that in mind. If the item was defective/not as described, then you are covered by ebay/paypal buyer protection, which is a separate thing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Beachcomber Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Well, if you bid on something with the pretext of returning it then I guess that's what you look for, but it is a real hassle for sellers who are honest and try to disclose everything in their sales and accept this type of return policy which I believe is obligatory with eBay now, not sure. And then if they don't they run the risk of someone giving them a chargeback and really screwing them over. This is why I will never sell anything on eBay. If the item is different than described then yes, by al means return it, but if not I think it's a bit cheeky. Oh, btw, looks like he relisted the dial so I guess you will have to look for another now. Please ask all relevant questions before you bid, I'm sure the sellers would appreciate it. dpap Posted May 17, 2015 Author Report Posted May 17, 2015 Thanks. He accepted a return and I reimbursed him for the transaction fees. By the way, they do not have to offer a return policy. Most sellers do not. If you choose to offer it, then I think you should honor it. I only saw it a few minutes before it was closing, and I did not have time to ask questions. I bid on it regardless because he offered a return. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
dpap Posted May 17, 2015 Author Report Posted May 17, 2015 I have also been burned as a seller many times, both on ebay and on various forums. Trust me, this does not constitute being burned, besides the hassle of relisting the item. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
