ryaku Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 You can see this new release in King's site, it looks very accurate to me (i can't say anything about caseback as i didn't find genuine pics). http://www.cclv.net/TAG-050.htm
Slartibartfast Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I got one of these Carreras from Andrew a short while ago. Mine is an Asian 21J version. I am very pleased with it. It makes a great every day watch that doesn't scream fake. You can see my review here. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=12926 I have since fitted a black leather deployant clasp type strap, which IMHO makes the watch look even better. The original does have display back BTW.
ryaku Posted December 27, 2006 Author Report Posted December 27, 2006 Thanks a lot for mentioning your review, i've been interested in that watch for long and i can't believe i missed the only one review around. I'd rather have your version with numerals, i like better, but i can't take that wrong date wheel (you well know colour shoud be black with white font). That ss bracelet is so beautiful.
coolfire Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 I've gotta admit that this is one really subtle and understated watch, in terms of design, that is...
cskent69 Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 king's looks nice - but that date seems to be to far off center to the left.
Slartibartfast Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Hi ryaku Here are a couple of newer pics of my Carrera (check your PM's). One with new strap, and one wrist shot. Don't know what price King's is, but Andrew's is a bargain (but came without boxed set).
ryaku Posted December 27, 2006 Author Report Posted December 27, 2006 Thank you Slartibartfast. Great looking strap too.
vmena Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Hi ryaku Here are a couple of newer pics of my Carrera (check your PM's). One with new strap, and one wrist shot. Don't know what price King's is, but Andrew's is a bargain (but came without boxed set). Did you manage finding a tag deplyment clasp? If so... where? Thanks
chrgod Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Interesting find! :-) The basic TAGHeuers looks nice and understated. Shame that the Carrera model has a display back. I belive the Carrera uses modified ETA2824-2 in the original, designated as TAG Heuer calibre 5.. In my review of the basic Link, you can see the genuine movement. The rotor design is a bit different, but I am sure there have been different versions. Very good looking watch. The Asian model is definently a good buy.
MAHLER Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 (i can't say anything about caseback as i didn't find genuine pics) @Ryaku per caso hai bisogno di Mahler ? Genuine Tag Heuer Carrera Automatic The Caseback from Limited Edition wv211c.ba0787 the movement is the same of standard edition...
ryaku Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 Grazie You like it? it's not bad at all, is it?
andreww Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 One step closer to the Carrera Chrono I guess. That cant be a bad thing!
ryaku Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 I thought the same. The chrono would be for sure my first choice.
marrickvilleboy Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 yeah genuine just uses the ETA 2824 movement stamped with caliber 5. this is very close to the genuine, not my taste though. good find!
