interaktiv Posted July 13, 2016 Author Report Posted July 13, 2016 GEN service Plexi are also there, a T19 Dome and a T39 Super Dome. Let's see what was the best fit for my Tudor! 1
Nanuq Posted July 13, 2016 Report Posted July 13, 2016 I went with a gen T39 Superdome from many years ago on the Frosty Flake. I cut the sidewalls down so it didn't stick up so high and still I bashed it. 1
interaktiv Posted July 13, 2016 Author Report Posted July 13, 2016 Final destination! I have chosen for the T19 and here is the
nick1972 Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 Great build! You just need decent aftermarket hands.
jmb Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 Yeah, the minute hand is a tad long but most folks don't notice... 1

nick1972 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 And the seconds tail a tad to short. http://www.tiger-concept.com/hands.html Made a gen / tiger comparison on repgeek. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?256155-Just-finished-Phong-7016

See here some Pics from an original 7016. 1
nick1972 Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Don't get me wrong, it's not my intention to break your watch down. With a great build like that, it screams for better hands and it will cost you peanuts. The hands from Phong or Yuki are just not good in my eyes. Tail from the seconds is circled in red and not close to genuine hands. 1

Nanuq Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 I worked with nick many years ago when I was building my Frosty Flake and I learned about Snowflake hands way back then. There's a very specific set of ratios that make them look "right" and he was kind enough to show me. That's when I learned about long Snowflake tails too. This photo just happened on its own but it really shows several of the ratios. Too bad it wasn't 3:15:15 when I took it, then you'd see how the arrows and tips reach the tip of the hours index. 2
Nanuq Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Man, that's a nice seconds hand. Brothers On Arms.
