docthor Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 The Titan watches I had before (Omega Seamaster, several Steinharts, Seikos, Citizens and a rep Pelagos) were heavy scratch magnets. But the Promaster Sky Titan I have since a few month doesn't show any signs of wear even though I have her on the wrist almost daily. That's some really special material they used for that watch Great daily beater which can do everything and doesn't need anything Gesendet von meinem SM-A310F mit Tapatalk
themannier Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Nice ! What does it make so strong to be scratch resistant ?
nikki6 Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Tungsten carbide doesn't scratch, but I'd be stunned if they used that. The Doc just isn't trying hard enough! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Sogeha Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 Works in IT doesn't he? Coffee and biscuits aren't going to scratch stainless. "Have you tried turning it off and back on again?" 4
Dawagner Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 I've got a big soft spot for this line of Citizens. Just purchased the Navihawk AT to round out my watch box should be here Monday!
nikki6 Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 That's a really nice piece, I may go have a shufty for one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Logan86 Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 I have been a fan of Citizen for years. They make wonderful timepieces and for the price point to quality ratio I say one is hard pressed to find a better but in the sub $1,000 range.

Dawagner Posted March 19, 2017 Report Posted March 19, 2017 I think that's why I like this one it's super busy!

Sogeha Posted March 20, 2017 Report Posted March 20, 2017 Press the right buttons and that thing should be able to find Stargates. If you want a quick time check, use your 'phone screen?
docthor Posted March 20, 2017 Author Report Posted March 20, 2017 ...you guys... @Sogeha yepp...I'm an IT guy but hey...I also have 4 kids so I guess you can count that as "trying hard"!?! Even though that dial is pretty busy time reading is very easy. Great video about Super Titanium linked above and here is a little bit to read about it... http://partner.citizenwatch.eu/en-US/Content/SuperTitaniumTechnologie 1
mrsoundman Posted March 21, 2017 Report Posted March 21, 2017 Sounds very similar to Seiko's Dia-Shield coated Titanium. Citizen used to call this Dura-Tec, guess it's Super Titanium now. more info: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/seiko-dia-shield-vs-citizen-dura-tec-253509.html
