I cut a bunch of green sappy spruce today and hauled it home for splitting. This load was easily 1,000 lbs and the Rover handled it like a breeze on a summer day. I have the 109 springs under it so it's usually *cough* stiff, and today it rode like a Cadillac. Climbing the 12% grade to Chez Nanuq it didn't hiccup or hesitate. I made many trips and now she's taking a well earned rest in the garage. Good girl.

Someone once said that Rovers, unlike most people, are capable of returning affection. I've spent a lot of time lately with the wrenches out and today she said "thank you".

Great to see one in the wild being used for its intended purpose. Although it'll take more than a few toothpicks in the back to upset it. Land Rovers have been built since 1948 and around 75% of all the ones made are still in use. A staggering statistic considering the use and abuse they get. Please keep this one soldiering on!

Great Nanuq...

Always great pics from Alaska.

I like your Land Rover pick up.

It is a monster of 4x4.

I had the old Pajero of Mitsubishi year 1991… another nice piece.

Have a nice.

That isn't a Defender, it's a Defender's granddaddy. A series II SWB or 88inch. Yes I'm pedantic, I know?

Wow! Good to know! :-)
