tframo
I’ll be using this as my base for a modded/semi Franken with Meiskiped JF 16610 (no rehaut engraving) with SH3135 base watch as pictured. Will be adding: Gen Crystal Gen Hands Gen Insert (still need) Gen Crown Gen Bracelet or clasp-still need (Rep clasp sucks) Movement service Gen spec brushing Will post pics when finished and back from Miskeiped thanks
LifeTrekker
Subscribed. I'm definitely interested in seeing how this build turns out, as you are doing almost exactly what I plan to do when I order one.Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
hologramet
Why not use a Glidelock SubC-clasp... They're so much sweeter?

hologramet
Of course not. However it extremely comfortable and close to gen-ones arent more than 50€.
themannier
You have a great project build here mate but be careful if you buy a gen bracelet for it...I installed a gen bracelet on this JF 16610 and the end link had not exactly the same shape, the gen SEL was a bit too short and really thinner than the rep SEL....the red arrows show you where it is different(thinner) than the rep bracelet !

Thanks for the heads up! The rep clasp is terrible so I at least need to upgrade that. Any experts chime in on how much better a tc v7 case is on a build like this vs the JF 16610? alligoat
What about a gen Rolex datewheel for the SH3135? Seems like I've read about a lot of people making that swap.

DVNE
Any experts chime in on how much better a tc v7 case is on a build like this vs the JF 16610? It is worse. The 3135 and 3135 clone fit loosely in the case. You have use really long movement tabs and bend them in a weird shape to secure the movement in the case. The JF is much better in this regard plus it is engraved between the lugs. I have this same version in transit to me. After owning 3 of these JF's and going crazy on one build upgrading damn near everything from the dial, crystal and insert, crown etc.., I have found that for me, the only upgrades this needs is a gen datewheel and a gen insert. Everything else is good enough for me.

DVNE
What do you do for the clasp? I used a TC clasp for mines because I had it but I didn't have any issues with my other JF when I was using it. Whats your issue with the clasp? I agree these JF are pretty good base... you can sink a load of $$ but really they are good enough with a little fettling.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Whats your issue with the clasp? It’s just pretty rough. Doesn’t want to stay closed all the way etc. gen clasps are outrageously priced so i May just keep it

tframo
Date is a bit high Yes but it doesn’t matter as it will be getting a full movement service and gen datewheel

Pombok
Add a gen datewheel to your list. The JF one is horrid.I don’t think you need to spend $150 on a gen date wheel, you can get an awesome aftermarket one on eBay... but bear in mind, the gen or aftermarket datewheel will need a very fine sanding to match the JF datewheel size, else the quickset date function won’t work.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pombok
Not true.. I have gen dw on my sh3135 and working nicely, without sanding.Ok, there have been a number of examples from some modders, misiekped included, where the quickset date function did not work with the gen or aftermarket wheel. I am in the process of fixing mine, due to this issue.I believe the adjustment is very fine. So it’s unsurprising there may be examples where the gen date wheel goes straight in and works.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
