FrancisWhitman
Was looking through Trusty's site earlier and came across this 1016 Explorer, which I'm pretty sure is the only cartel 1016 I've seen with drilled lug holes and a proper plexi dome. Still far from perfect — dial numerals are a little wacky, and the drilled holes to some eyes may seem slightly too far inward from the ends of the lugs — but otherwise looks like an improvement over the other 1016 he has for sale, which lacks drilled lugs and whose sapphire crystal is only modestly domed. Hoping he'll put a video up soon. Anyone seen this elsewhere? Or bought one? (Photos via TrustyTime)
jmb
Hmmm, too small lug holes, lug profile is too fat, and the bezel is a tad too tall.
FrancisWhitman
Yeah, I hadn't noticed how mammoth that bezel is. And in some of the other photos there are some nasty gaps between the case and end links. Interesting nonetheless to see some of the vintage reps get a factory update. Hopefully in response to more buyer interest and will pave the ground for some other vintage pieces to show up. Would love to see a vintage Air King get a decent rep treatment... I think it's safe to say you've still got the 1016 case set market cornered 👍

FrancisWhitman
Website indicates yes but tough to know for sure. I'd email Trusty to inquire: trustytime@gmail.com
automatico
"I think it's safe to say you've (JMB) still got the 1016 case set market cornered." Yep. Bought two, one went MIA in my shop. Put out a BOLO. No show. I'm thinking it had a string tied to it and he yanked it back. 850 miles of string gotta show up sooner or later... FrancisWhitman
Oh, strange. I scoured his site several times earlier this year hunting for a good cartel 1016 and this one didn't turn up.

JSebWC
Agreed JMB is the man when it comes to 1016 cases. That one isnt thaaaaaat bad...the lug holes are the hardest part...enlarging lug holes is slightly easier you can swap the bezel and crystal and nobody will really notice the lug shape of the case... just checked out Trustys page and it looks like the feds gotum...sites down.....damn I am sure you can reach out via email if need be. My JMB + Yuki ... Have another explorer build in the works
