Pugwash Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 This is basically a copy of By-Tor's photo of the Ultimate 45mm PO and the Noobmariner Sub. I added a Fiddy, just so people can get some idea of the scale of these watches. Last year, I got the Noobmariner and thought it was huge. Really obvious and blatantly heavy. Even Mrs Pugwash accused it of being too big. Since then, she wears a Radiomir 183 and I wear anything up to the Fiddy. I even tried on a 187 (possibly the biggest watch I've tried apart from a genuine Big Pilot or Railmaster XXL) on Sunday and found I could wear it without looking too silly. Click for 1280x960 version ps. I don't know where this post should go. It's not a brand shot and it's not a collection shot. Mods, feel free to move it where you think it should go.
SportsterRider Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Wow. That Panerai is huge! Nice collection!
Goochenbrau Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Thanks for the new background Also, when I first got a sub, the size overwhelmed me, but I got used to it. After wearing a PAM 217 (same size as the 1950 shown above), the sub felt small to me. So from my experiences, Ive noticed that you get used to the larger sizes pretty quickly.
Pugwash Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Thanks for the new background It was the bag Mrs Pugwash gave me a set of rapidographs and some sweeties for my birthday in. It's been lying around and rather than throw it out, I thought I'd use it for something.
hambone Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 That is why I have a really hard time buying a Rolex. It seems so puny on my 8" wrist compared to the Omega and Pam. Thanks for the post.
b16a2 Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Excellent comparison! The Fiddy certainly is one chunky watch!
Watchmeister Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Watches are kind of like women's comments on men. Once you have had big it is hard to go back.
jonthebhoy Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Moved to 'My Collection'. JTB Yes I know Puggy's collection is much bigger than this but the thread fits better in there than GA.
Pugwash Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Love your pics... What camera do you use? Im after a good camera... //robi An old Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20: The lens isn't that big really, but you need to put the shroud on if you want to fit filters, like the polarising filter in the picture.
Polynomial Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Watches are kind of like women's comments on men. Once you have had big it is hard to go back. So you are going on smaller and smaller women? Or you can achieve it by other means?
Pugwash Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 So you are going on smaller and smaller women? Or you can achieve it by other means? Didn't anyone tell you? The more watches you own, the bigger you get.
Watchmeister Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 In that case, I am feeling very well endowed.
andreww Posted January 30, 2007 Report Posted January 30, 2007 Awesome pics pug. I cant wait for my hockey puck to show up!
Pugwash Posted January 30, 2007 Author Report Posted January 30, 2007 Wrist shots please! Er, ok. These have all been posted before.
