lovepanerai
Hmm, looks pretty good to me...what particular CD/crown detail is bugging you ? cheers, babola The crown looks like it has less teeth than the gen, the crown guard lever end point is not curved like the gen or other replicas for that matter - I will further illustrate with my own pictures once I recieve the watch - the pictures could show a prototype, at least I am hoping they do

Category 5
What's the word on the Asian 7750 in this configuration? i would think the absence of the chrono would greatly reduce the number of issues on unserviced movements, but you never know. When I see 7750 Asian I automatically start thinking I'll need to set aside a service fund too.

Besides, Andrew never said they've re-done CG and crown on this 92 rep version Edited February 15, 2007 by babola
rsv123
It's looking damn good, certainly an improvement on the previous versions. Regarding the crown and crown guard, the crown looks slightly off, but not so much as to bother me. Here are some good pics of the gen: http://www.thewatchquote.com/Panerai-Lumin...tos-No_4058.htm Looking forward to the Arktos North Pole if it's as good as this! Usil
Good to hear on the improvements. Thanks for this. And good to hear about using super lume. On Pams, I hope you can also put the thicker crown on. Usil

TK471
The North Pole will have these same features? That is truly exciting if so, though I have not had any experience with Asian 7750-based GMTs.

That is truly exciting if so, though I have not had any experience with Asian 7750-based GMTs. This is what I was also thinking. It would be great if the North Pole had these same specs as it is still in production. Then I finally will be TEMPTED to get my first set of Pams (as flaws which held me back would be resolved). And same question on the Asian 7750, how is the durability ect versus a swiss. Edited February 15, 2007 by mumum
denisegold
Hey, I just want a 40mm auto that looks right! The 44mm are too big on my wrist so this is exciting.....
t
hmmmmmmm this version looks a little bit thinner than the old version??? how much is the thickness on new version? but a great watch
tenacious_b
crown guard and crown guard lever look like the crappy ones on the 21j models. This kills the look for me. My 186 Arktos looks way better than this, even with it's crappy cyclops and date font.
HauteHippie
What about the more pressing recessed cannon pinion issue? Non-issue.
HauteHippie
So maybe it's just super-anal me, but the lume in Andrew's pic looks really bad. The date font is improved but not quite right. The cyclops looks good as does the crown. But if I were to buy this watch, I'd still want a The Zigmeister lume job and an archibald/kruzer datewheel. Watchmeister
I agree with Chief. Font is better but they were unwillling to spend the $100 bucks to get the exact correct Swiss Font (that one you can't get for free - ). And the lume does look bad in that particular picture. The watch is still a solid improvement though.

But nowhere near the real thing. I'll stick with my non-date PAMs.
