jake48 Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Yeah! That's what I am talking about. Love that crystal height and that is the mother of all pearls (must be Gen) Did you have it re-lumed?
Stephane Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 A real beauty. Congrats Tribal. At the end of the day, yes, these lugholes are great and finish the watch perfectly. What dial is it ? Cheers Stephane
alligoat Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Beautiful job, Tribal! Great pearl, crystal height, crown and crown guards and great pics to boot. Of course, we'd love to hear all of the details!
Tribal Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 Beautiful job, Tribal! Great pearl, crystal height, crown and crown guards and great pics to boot. Of course, we'd love to hear all of the details! Thanky for your kind words... Here the details of this Franken.. The case is an old MBWcase. I drilled the lugholes, shaped the CG's,installed a gen Tube and Crown and overhault the whole case.. Caseback is from the perfect Sub... The bezel is grinded down, also the gen Insert that snaps in. The Movement is an Eta 2836-2,the Dial is from Pauls perfect Sub,that fits the movement perfectly and is good as a gen one. The Datewheel is an old MBW datewheel,Numbers not too fat and big. Hands from an old MBW. Installed a noobmariner bracelet drilled the SEL's to fit gen sprinbars, the clasp is changed with a better one..
HauteHippie Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Congrats on your 57th franken sub. Or is it your 58th? Looks great, as usual. What was the recipe for this one?
Tribal Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 Congrats on your 57th franken sub. Or is it your 58th? Looks great, as usual. What was the recipe for this one? No no its the same old Frankensub as ever. But i installed on this one a better datewheel and managed that a gen Insert fits the bezel.. So nothing to do on this one...
HauteHippie Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 Did you have any problem with the drilled holes breaking through on the underside of the SELs? The lug holes look great, and it almost looks like you rounded over the ends of the spring bars...

Hi Chief, no problem to drill the SEL,but you must drill slow and cool the drillbit. the sprinbars are not rounded just polished...
Justasgood Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Very nice and clean looking watch. Great work as always.
