This 112H is PVd coated and not ceramic. Ceramic is the radiomir presented there and it is shinny :)

Very beautiful watch.

I believe it is not really a pvd.looks like a DLC coating to me.

PVd or DLC ?Any one can confirm this?

With Finepics's PVD project coming up it probably won't be too hard to do ;) Think I might join you in that project, just need to find a suitable project watch

Looks great, I might do something like that myself. I like that the pin isn't recessed but it looks a bit off.

It can't be off, it's genuine.

I think that this will be one badass watch and should be really easy to do with David's help.

Group buy, anyone?

Normally I think PVD is for Mall-Ninjas, but that one is a very very bad ass PVD project--The sandwich base dial and the h seried guard make it work. Does it have a solid back? If so, that will be hard to find in H series. I wish one of our aftermarket guys would make custom solid backs in Ti and SS--I bet the modders and frankenbuilders among us would make it VERY worth their whiles since solid backs would make about 20 models possible to build.

More photos of the black beast:

(I prefer the 112H instead of the 111H)

I agree, the seconds dial just takes away from the simplicity, though a logo might be cool.

Is there a 112H rep yet?

They're out there. I've seen good dials (correct sized numbers and no flag on the 12) on both the Chinese 6497 and the ETA 6497 versions. Have yet to see the correct, thick crown guard and AR color however.

Taking the dial from one of the 112H replicas and putting it into a replica "PVD" case gives you this:

I wonder if a brushed and a polished case is PVDed the final result will be different?

And what is the difference of PVD and DLC ?

two different ways to do the coating of the watch.

pvd = physical vapor deposition

dlc = diamond like carbon

is ok

but i'll let the experts chime in as well

with a brushed case the pvd finish will be matt black.

with a polished case the pvd finish will be shiny.

I guessed it.. so I have to brush the polished 112H case..

Veni-

For the best results, you'll actually want to have the case bead blasted. Brushed will still give a semi shiney appearance to the PVD.

Yes.. that's Finepics told me they will do :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I agree, definitely the 112H. That is an awesome watch. Cool project Veni.

Edited to add that I'm not usually into PVDs either, but that sandwich dial makes this very, very cool.

Climb on.
