rower
I think it would be easy to do and it's stainless seel! They also are releasing a special edition "Black Steel" model.
FxrAndy
Is the black steel just PVD coated or some other treatment? 30min counter at 12, mmmmmm the transfer gears would only cause extra drag on the movement when the chrono was running rather than running seconds at 6 all the time but would that be a time bomb for the chrono side of the works and hand reseting also?????? MMMMMMM To think about things we have I like it for a Breitling, like those stenciled numerals, Would that make relumes easier, NOT
Watchmeister
It looks like a SS chrono avenger to me. Is it the same size?

FxrAndy
Nope, sorry that was me being a mong last night pointing out that the 30min sub dial is strangely enough exactly where it should be, I was confused.

skjalg
what is the price for the gen on this? Cheers Dani, just saw the SS Skyland at "protid" in sandvika storsenter.. it was priced about 30200 NOK (apx 5000USD). I also asked about the blacksteel but they had no clue.. Seriously considering this for my first gen watch.. it looks fantastic! And they also offer to pay it interest free over 12months.. tempting.. alanytical
Revisiting this.... So does anybody who talks to collectors know if there are any plans or rumors about the Skyland getting repped in '08?
poopypants
FYI, these (SS Versions) are going for as low as 2700-2900US on TZ... as for being rep'd... i am crossing fingers that the factory(s) that made the SOSF, make this particular rep as well... they did a great job with that one... why not throw this one into the mix! frankt
Why do we need ANOTHER round, chunky, overly busy dialed, 3 register Breit...???...From 10 feet away, they ALL look alike to me...An SOSF, and a gold EVO on a black strap is all the Breits I'll need in my watch drawer...But that's just me... The reality of the situation is: this is a watch with substantial appeal to a very narrow spectrum of collectors, and probably won't get repped until it becomes popular enough among the "great unwashed" to be economically produced in sufficient numbers... Don't hold your breath!!
andreww
The AD across the street from me has the black steel version for $4600 CDN in the window. Its interesting, but I prefer the SS version much better. Its slightly larger than my chrono avenger, yet much smaller than the super avenger. I can't wait for a rep of this one! AND it's just never enough! but thats just me... The reality of the situation is: this is a watch with substantial appeal to a very narrow spectrum of collectors, and probably won't get repped until it becomes popular enough among the "great unwashed" to be economically produced in sufficient numbers... Don't hold your breath!! I don't remember anyone posting at anytime "I wish they would rep the SuperOcean Steelfish" but, when they did... herds of people bought it because of its quality... create ANOTHER quality piece and the herds will follow again! and being that they already rep every single model that breitling makes (in any and all colors)... you wont be holding your breath for too long... Also, they have already produced a sufficient SS case for this model...(SS CA - surely, not 1:1, but 44mm compared to 45mm, it should work fine!) so whats left? dial and caseback... it utilizes a polished PROII bracelet just like SOSF... and lets not forget the different bezel... whats so hard about this? my thoughts are they will come out with a crappy quality black version first... andreww
it may appear that the Skyland is just another Breit, but in reality there are a lot of us who have been awaiting a SS addition to the Avenger line that doesn't approach 50mm in diameter. The Chrono Avenger is nice, but titanium is not the most attractive of metals IMO. At 45mm, the Skyland is perfect for most size wrists. Agreed, there is nothing new in the design, but its a good design that many of us have been unable to wear.
poopypants
the Skyland is perfect for most size wrists. I purchased a gen CA for that reason and i love it... tried to talk myself into a SA, but just couldnt do it... have to add... its always nice to swap out lesser quality asian movements with REAL quality swiss ones... and this is another one of those models... especially with the 6,9,12 format... andreww
Also, even though officially it is a new model, it really is just a continuation of the now defunct chrono avenger.
poopypants
defunct is such a harsh word... but then again, so is discontinued... but the CA is certainly not DEAD!

Don't hold your breath!! i cant disagree with you more. if your arguement is that all breitlings look alike, then you must feel the same way about rolex, AP, panerai, hublot's big bang series, omega and many more well distinguished watch names. each watch company has their own distinct style and build on whats worked for them in the past. "From 10 feet away, they ALL look alike to me." of course, thats what makes a breitling a breitling....thats what makes a rolex a rolex. and your theory of how this wont be a big seller....look what happened with the bce....if this is done as well as the bce....i can almost guarantee you they will sell more than the bce. the reality of the situation is: they will rep this watch very soon....and if they dont, they are missing out on a huge profit. alanytical
With all the obscure brands that are being repped recently, it surprises me that they aren't jumping on this model given the brisk Breitling sales. poopypants
its funny how SOME rep models come out before the genuine does... in this case... i think we will be waiting until after the CH new year... heck, may even be waiting until the summer months... Oh yeah... and to whom it may concern... dont forget the AR! and please don't put it on the SWISS model only! frankt
Got to admit....even back "in the day" when I was into gen's, I was never much of a Breit fan, since they were considered to be "assembled" parts watches, rather than truly "in house" built like Omega and Rolex, but lately, I have picked up a couple of reps to flesh out my assortment, and I still consider the genuine ones to be second tier, but a close second!!...So please don't take my opinions to heart...Actually, if I hadn't done a trade that brought me a Gold EVO lately, I wouldn't have even considered any of the Breits for my watch junk drawer!(That's where they all eventually end up when i get bored!!)....But that watch convinced me that I needed an SFSO...And who knows when it will end...??? But in the end...they're all just "costume jewelery"(even the real ones!!) and as adults, we really shouldn't get too excited...We've got so much more to worry about!!!!
