ryyannon
To tell you the truth, I always had a good feeling about him... as a person.... as for his music, a track here and a track there.....I used to know a girl who was going out with the guy who plays the sax solo on 'One More Night' - Don somethingorother...drugs got him and he's dead now, but it was a great solo.... I rarely do blanket judgements on artists....I've even got one or two Michael Jackson's (Raining in Moscow and Man in the Mirror) along with David Sylvain and even more arcane stuff that you hear maybe once and never forget... I just wish you guys would take the time to put one or two of your faves on the board instead of just saying that you think they're great... a picture's worth a thousand words, and all that.... Anyway, you've got Bird of Paradise, Blade Runner, Mandalay to listen to, and if someone gets off on it, I'm happy to have brought it to the board... Apologies - I feel bad because my original post was supposed to come in two parts, but work has been unrelenting since (and it's 12.30am, which is my definition of unrelenting!). My emphasis was supposed to be that I was chuffed to bits with the songs you put up - I love exposing my tastes to new things, and I know it took a long time to post that stuff. So a big thank you Anyway, I took the time to snipe at Phil Collins, but I knew that it's no use me having a go without putting up my own musical tastes!! (Which were the second part) Quid pro quo!! Then you can take aim back Will rectify when I get a mo.... Cheers!

cornerstone
Right, finally got my life in order.... Obviously I have had to work hard to find something that makes me look way more sophisticated and macho than I really am - which it makes it all the more disappointing that the best I could come up with was Morrissey! The main music I listening to at the moment is: 1. NEW ORDER - WAITING FOR THE SIREN'S CALL I just never seem to get bored of this album. 2. MORRISSEY - RINGLEADER OF THE TORMENTORS His latest. The infamous tight [censored] has actually stumped up for a real orchestra with this release. 3. IDLE TALK - "I don't know why" Hahaha...free plug! Still, "she's got that look of love in her eye".... Cheers! Edited May 26, 2006 by cornerstone
ryyannon
Thanks for taking the time to share, C-stone... Others will profit; as for me, I couldn't get past the dialogue window requesting the password: it seemed frozen, and I couldn't enter your hot chestnut and unthaw it. After I cancelled, I went back to the zip.file on my desktop and tried to open: got a new window asking for MY password. Entered yours hopefully, but ziltch. Now when I try to click to open, nothing at all happens. I get a feeling that Mr. Zip doesn't like me. Oh well... thanks anyway...your gesture was appreciated. cornerstone
Eclectic indeed! Any particular rationale behind the order? I only know Rachmaninoff from the film Shine. In the film everyone thinks the guy (David Helfgott) is a bit of an idiot savant, but basically a genius. Sadly, in real life apparently the experts say that he's not very good at playing the piano. Which, lets face it, is an important part of the film

Highflyingclive
Try this... "Will You" from Hazel O'Connor's 1980 "Breaking Glass" soundtrack. You get the lyrics and the full 4.49 here, when you click on "listen to a sample": http://www.breakingglass.net/music/will.htm If that evocative saxaphone solo doesn't touch your heart, you are probably dead. Inform the authorities immediately.

robertrinaustin
I travel so much now, I am rarely home to listen to anything, but in my car parked at the airport is Green Day "Bullet in a Bible". I roll down the windows and crank up the volume for the ride home. I'll pick up an Ipod when I'm home next weekend, so I can take my music collection with me. buckeye
Ryyannon: Everything But the Girl is a real favorite...funny that there's not much (if anything) from Tracey Thorn since the group retired...AND Astral Weeks is perhaps one of the top ten albums ever......that being said, I'm listening to: 1. Chronus
Nice mix Thanks Drizznay. I used to DJ hip hop and R&B a few years ago (a big reason why i have over 3000 CDs and records!), and then got into DJing latin styles at the same time, salsa, merengue, latin house etc. This was when Ricky Martin was big so the parties were pret ty good.... And the girls The guy I work with now designs high end hi-fi's and is going to Munich tomorrow for the big show. His stuff beats equipment that costs 10 times as much... too bad i cant afford the 10k I would to get one of his systems! Anyway, he used to DJ across Europe and he has a wide range of tastes so I get exposed to a lot of music I wouldn't have otherwise, which is great. One day, at work, it may be rock (today), tomorrow could be a hip hop day, day after could be house, another day could be R&B and so on.
