I would love to see them rebuild the towers...not as working office buildings but as a monument to the souls lost. Rebuild in the same stlye but only taller...make them the tallest, strongest structures on the earth. TWP, God bless you and your courage.

I believe that's exactly what's being done...more or less...

Freedom Tower is not the Twin Towers....yes they are rebuilding, but the whole rebuilding process has been a disaster....so yes, what's being done is less, not more....

One can really tell we're dealing with Americans, when they think 6 years is too much time, or partly a wasted effort on something of such enormity as this rebuilding.

The Italians have been trying to deal with the Venice sinking problem intensively for at least 100 years, and still the committees only argue...

Anyway, this is not meant as a diss for any people. But patience, my friends, yes? Rome wasn't built on a molehill.

Groundbreaking for the construction of the World Trade Center began on August 5, 1966, and was completed in December 1970.

Plans, projects and propositions for its construction had been discussed for more than a decade before construction even began.

Now factor in the incredibly complex aftermath of 9/11 and do a little math concerning the reconstruction.

Conclusion: it's all Bush's fault.

Or, Americans can't get anything right anymore.

Or, if you can do it better, faster or more intelligently, then be my guest.

Be sure to let us all know how you're making out!

And have a nice day <_<

In addition to the victims and heros of 9/11, let's also remember the victims of terrorism in Madrid, London, Bali, Iraq, and wherever fanatics believe that their extremist views trump peoples' rights to live their lives in peace. Also, let's acknowledge the men and women in all walks of life and from all beliefs who are doing what they can to stop the insane destruction and violence.

If there is a God, and whatever he (or she or it) looks like, has to be horrified at the absolute madness of much of mankind.

God bless too.

But this is the 9/11 thread, for a specific purpose. We're not remembering the atrocities at Pearl Harbour either, which also seared American hearts for a long time.

@FxrAndy: Thanks for your (pl.) and your families' sacrifice. I had a cousin in Afghanistan until last year, having been posted there immediately after Sandhurst.

If you followed the rebuilding process, you would know what I am referring to. Months after 9/11, they came out with 6 prelimary designs which was poorly received.

Then they held a design contest a year later with thousands of entries of what to do with the site. I beleive it was then narrowed down to 7 designs then with the Freedom Tower design being the winner. Again, the original design for the Freedom Tower was poorly received. At this point, people wanted the Towers back.

You had lawsuits with Silverstein over how much he should receive from insurance. You had politics playing a big part of this. The Port Authority got involved. Families got involved. Yes, it wasn't an easy process, but it took much longer that it should have in the first place.

As a proud American, I would have like for the Towers to be rebuild - again - bigger, taller, stronger. Many Americans, regardless of what is being built, would have liked to see the rebuilding process take shape alot quicker with quicker results.

BTW - not Bush's fault - it was the 19 mother F*#!&@ fault and that impotent smelly f*#& hiding in his littel cave.

On news radio this morning they interviewed a father whose son died in 9/11, and he said that he felt he hadn't hugged his son enough, because, you know, men don't show their emotions that way. And now he's gone.

So go home and show some love and appreiation to whomever you've got in your life beacuse you never know.

Goddamn right! I don't agree with Bush's policies but as an American I'll say straight up, blame Bush for whatever, the bastards that flew those planes were the true monsters.

God Bless America
