At the end of the Day...

Life is about people...

And that includes the folks you encounter in communities like ours here...

I have had the privilege to meet Omni, Ubi, Rocket, Saabin...

And now Nanuq...

Had the opportunity this week to spend sometime with him while in Alaska on business...

We had an excellent dinner at Simon & Seaforts in Anchorage...

Overlooking the bay...

And witnessing an absolutely stunning sunset...

Exchanged conversation, broke bread, and handled 3 awesome Genuine vintage pieces of his...

Truly, life doesn't get to much better...

Thanks my friend for the gift of the Rolex GMT and the Gen Dial to accompany it...

You are surely a class act...

And I'm blessed to have been able to add you to my list...

Sounds like a great time. It would be great to hang out with Nanuq and talk watches and Rovers. Sadly I don't see myself up in Alaska any time soon.

I will be in Paris in the not too distant future, so I will be hitting up Ryyannon for GTG. :D

Meeting other members has been a really enjoyable part of the hobby.

Cheers!

I'd love to meet up with you, Manny!

Don't hesitate to let me know when you'll be here....

Chowhound here I come! Sounds like the Smith & Wollensky's of fish. :)

Nanuq seems like one of the most laid-back, kindly members on here. The mod staff certainly are one of the best I've ever seen, you too TT.

Next time you come back make it a winter trip and we'll go do some adventuring. :Jumpy:

I've done Alaska in the Winter 3 times...

Once I stepped off the plane and it was -28 [before windchill] outside...

I think I'll pass on a repeat Nanuq...

I experiment this kind of "rendez-vous" too, by taking a coffee and discuss with a member who was on a forum like this one, but in an another kind of hobby (please, don't go in a fancy interpretation here  )

Very cool/interesting to met someone with the only conversation you have is exchanging your opinions/comments on forum. Writing/post is sooooooo far than a TRUE one to one communication. There's sooooo much thing that we miss in email/forum... be careful about INTERPRETATION, sometime, by reading a sentence, there's more than one way to interpret it, and this is bad, bad, bad. This is why smiley's come to help us ;)

Magagne, like you mentioned, meeting someone in person is quite a bit different than just here on the board. I'd love to meet some of you in person. We even have a tool to help facilitate this - the Member Map. Unfortunately lots of members still haven't posted their general locations. Come on people, nobody is going to track you down based on the google map!

Member Map - Plot your dot!
