Hi Guys,

just to let you know that I think the quality of the images posted in RWG is nothing less than superb.

Looking at them , I think of top professional photographers.

The images are crisp, bright, and in perfect focus, ( unless a particular point is to be highlighted )

It leads me to believe that some of the members are using 16 megapixel plus , cameras, say Nikons.

Would like to share this pic. of the only Breitling I own , (at the moment)

Keep up the great work.

cheers Rod.

Many thanks for your input, appreciate it.

I bought this watch on the bay , couple of years ago, as gen, ( paid gen price ).

After going through many posts and pics,on this site, I must admit that I am a tad confused and hesitant as to if, this watch is gen? It only came with outer/inner box /instructions, but no serial no. paper. I would gladly like to hear any comments ( good or bad.)

I have put a full res. image at, http://www.members.westnet.com.au/rodwc/breitling ( 3.5 mb.)

I have a navitimer in the post , (rep) which I am looking forward to.

Many thanks in advance.

Beautiful watch you have there! It is 100% genuine.

Sometmes paperwork ges lost, which is a shame. Get in touch with Breitling, and give them your serial number, they might be able to print some new papers out.

I use a 5mp non-SLR for my photos. It's never about the camera. :)

Great to hear from the masters of the game, and that they are willing and able to share their expertise.

I have studied and am still studying, your words of wisdom , because what cannot speak, cannot lie.

Wisdom , when shared, opens up a new whole world.

I thank you all for sharing your knowledge, so that we all may learn.

Little grasshopper.

Thanks for that simple but effective tip, I did inded get in touch with breitling and they forwarded the email to a Breitling rep. here on oz.

The long and short of it, quote the model and serial no , ask politely and the e.t.a. is 6-8 weeks , cost A$60.

It certainly looks Gen to me...

Welcome to the "Group" Rod, I am sure you will enjoy yourself here...

I, for one, can't take a pic worth a darn... maybe it's the lack of natural light in my cave?

Screw the watch.... see them every day of the week :p

But have a look at the beautiful bit of gear in the 2nd shot :thumbsupsmileyanim:(3 posts up^)

Hardly the sort of equipment to use as a display stand. That is classic in its own right.

Rod, is that yours?

Did you refurb it? It looks just magnificent :clap2:

More pics, more details ....Pleeeease!

BTW, your photography is also in the quality bracket, no mistake about that.

Great post.... I'm drooling.

Thanks for your kind words, the prop. is a Swiss,

Watchmakers Topping tool. Used for rounding up wheels on watches and small clocks.

It has been restored, and is made from German silver. ( no silver content )

It polishes up better than brass and doesnt tarnish as much.

These topping tools are dated ca. 1860.

This was bought locally, and come up occasionally on Ebay.

To all the members out there , that say they cant take good pics.

Mine were below what is shown here, believe me.

I simply followed the posts by Pugwash, turned off the flash, adjusted the white light setting,

and got myself a light tent.

No fancy lighting was used, just 3 household table lamps ( 75 watt globes )

I made up the first tent , out of a cardboard box, covered with terylene curtain fabric, ( use the search button, how to make a light tent )when

I found that it worked just great, bought a light tent ( A$ 30 )

Jugde the results for yourself, they are only going to get better now.

No bright or natural light is required, just the artificial light. ( sure you will get better results from

more equipment, but its not the answer ).

Simply , experiment, its amazing what a couple of good shots do for the confidence.!

Long way to go yet, but I am improving.

Go on HAVE A GO.

See, comments like this makes me all proud and stuff. I love seeing people who just bite the bullet and try it. It's not that hard if you have an eye and a bit of patience. Great shots, Rodwc. :yu:

I agree. Nothing is stopping people from taking above-average shots. This forum is full of great photographers, some of whom don't even know it yet.
