dluddy Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Just picked up a couple of outstanding MBK Patek's, the Aquanaut and Nautilus to round out my Genta Family. Could the AP Royal Oak be next These have been expertly reviewed by others including Euno and Ubi so I will just show some Pics. The Genta Family The Aquanaut The Nautilus Guess which one I'm wearing today? The Nautilus 3/21/08 OK, a quick update to add the MBK AP Royal Oak to complete the Genta collection.
dadog13 Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 really great collection...for me the nicest is the PP Nautilus, just have to love that dial...I miss that one in my collection, but definitely sooner or later I will buy one... wear them well and enjoy them!
torresp Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Very nice aquanaut. Is the jumbo version or the "standard" 36mm one?. Could you post some pics of the date wheel at 27 or 15? Thanks in advance and congrats!
deltatahoe Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 very nice pics my friend; congrats on your new pieces oddly enough, the nautilus just doesn't do it for me. i think i'm going to have to see one in person before i understand people's love of these the aquanaut on the other hand i think i could get used to....particularly on a nice leather or alligator strap  deltatahoe
jeff g Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Very Nice Genta collection. Since purchasing the MBK Nautilus, it is the ONLY watch I wear. Still need to get the APRO jumbo. Wear them well.
Richard Tracy Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Now that is a collection to aspire to one day own ! The Best of the Best !
hambone Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Superb collection. Compliments on your good taste.
dluddy Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 @emuozz It is Sapphire Display Back @Torresp - Datwheel shot as requested - It is standard 38MM w/o Crown size. There is no MBK rep (or any rep) of a Jumbo Aquanaut to my knowledge
By-Tor Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Brilliant. Have you ever posted a photo of your entire collection... or are you like me, trying to keep it compact?
dluddy Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Brilliant. Have you ever posted a photo of your entire collection... or are you like me, trying to keep it compact? Don't have a Wide angle lens BT My collection is not compact but I am slowly weeding out the non-keepers and modding the ones I can't see ever getting sick of.
By-Tor Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 I've always owned just 5-8 reps at the same time. Actually I'm much happier with smaller number of watches (so all get regular wrist time, even once or twice a month). If I count everything, I have owned 35+, but I'm well aware that these numbers still make me look like an amateur here. Would like to see your collection dluddy.
robertk Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 That's a great collection. The Nautilus is a standout! Hard to take off....
emuozz Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Thanks for the case back pic I really not sure but I think that the MBK is the rep of the big version of the aquanaut since the regular version it
dluddy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 You are correct. My mistake. The MBK is the 5065 "Jumbo" model at 38.1MM
Corgi Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 The crown in your nautilus is different from the crown in mine. Mine is MBK - is yours?
dluddy Posted December 14, 2007 Author Report Posted December 14, 2007 The crown in your nautilus is different from the crown in mine. Mine is MBK - is yours? From Paso - what is different Corgi?
warbody Posted December 14, 2007 Report Posted December 14, 2007 Lovely collection ! Feel identified with this one
manuel Posted December 17, 2007 Report Posted December 17, 2007 there is a gen aquanaut with solid caseback. I saw it in ebay.
archibald Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 A great collection. Who said the 70's were the Dark Ages of design? Whoever it was they were wrong, at least when it comes to watches. BTW, has anyone ever run accross a list of high end watches Genta designed? Wonder if he ever did anything for Cartier, JLC, etc...
ehtolcad Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Fantastic collection, quality and quantitiy wise. Wear the well! ...and... I've always owned just 5-8 reps at the same time. Actually I'm much happier with smaller number of watches (so all get regular wrist time, even once or twice a month). If I count everything, I have owned 35+, but I'm well aware that these numbers still make me look like an amateur here. Would like to see your collection dluddy. Amateur!!!
Tom Hawkes Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Hi. Could someone point me in the right direction for an Aquanaut just like the one posted? I had a look on trustys site but the hands are different there.. Could Precious Time get these?
Victoria Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 Mods, Tom: Rather fey observation but it's been puzzling me -- Tom Hawkes' ID is the only one which has icons of all his ratings, to date, under each post. Is this a known glitch? EDIT: Actually, I have to correct myself. Even more bizarrely, the ratings reflect neither those given him, nor those he gave to others. If you click on the rating icon next to the ID, you'll see it. "List" is also ghosted.
