I Need Help with Vintage MBW DRSD

Recommended Posts

Although I've been collecting for a while I have no clue when it comes to vintage MBW rollies...

I recently picked up this piece...it came in parts and I had my watch guy put it all together...

-supposedly gen tropic crystal

-gen crown/aftermarket tube

What does it need? Does it even look good? I need some expert eyes...

Dave, it looks like junk so just send it to me and I will part it out!!!!

Really, it looks good and I love the rivited band. It gives it more of an authentic look of a vintage watch!

Enjoy it!

excellent 1665 you have there!!

Looking good! Maybe a little more patina to the hands to even them out with the dial indices, trim down the CG's a bit more and a genuine lume pearl.

I agree with TMG, on two out of three at least.

Better pearl- maybe the $10 one from Ofrei might work in the MBW insert

Trim the Cg's slightly

Evening up the color between the hands and markers- a little variation isn't that big a deal in my mind.

All in all, it's a good looking watch- just wear it and age it!

It needs a fliplock bracelet. And I *reeeeeeeeeally* need that folded/riveted bracelet for my 6536!

Here's the folded oyster (no rivets) that came with a 1665. Note the fliplock... it should have no "grooves" in it.

Ideally your folded oyster won't have 37 years of wear on it and links as stretched as Jacko's bank account.

to do with them...
