Just thinking about this just now and wondering if anyone else puts this much thought into it.

I wear my Sub LV when I'm on call in the hospital because:

1. it has a date and I date alot of charts.

2. its moderately sized so I can pull gloves on over it.

3. it's waterproof(-ish) so if I get blood, guts or fluids on it, it's gonna survive.

4. it's not on a leather band that could be damaged by said fluids, or by my own sweat after not having showered in 3days...

5. it's an asian 21J I got used so I don't really care if it gets messed up :D

So, how do you pick which rep you wear to work?

When I'm doing ANY hard work, have a workout, or work at my summer cottage I wear this one. Very robust rep and a few scratches here and there only makes it more handsome.

My philosophy concerning this has just recently changed... Before about a year ago, I would grab whatever was on the nightstand (which meant that I wore the same watch for days at a time). Then as my collection grew to over 40 watches, I decided to rotate them. If I hadnt worn a watch in 2-3 weeks, it was sold to fund something new.

Recently, I have begun going to alot of rather informal business meetings ( music industry) and have started wearing the best of the best or the gens. I now decide what I am wearing based on how well it is going to do in comparison to the watches around me.

Two days ago I saw a platinum masterpiece being worn by a producer... Surely it was gen, and it was quite impressive. I happened to be wearing an Omega Speedy and he actually commented on it! I was stunned!

My main rotation consists of a gen 16610, a gen 16613, a rep Speedy and a newly acquired rep SFSO. All go nicely with my jeans and t-shirts!

LOL! "On the job" has a very different connotation in the UK. ;)

I believe Rima's girlfriend (also a physician) wears a beautiful DJ. It's functional, but smart at the same time. Also, I've found patients tend to judge their doctor's via their watches, and clothes -- if they're not in pain, obviously -- so Rolexes work well.

As for me, when I had a job-job, I wore very simple watches. NO ROLEXES the first year. That's just tacky for an up-and-coming person in a firm, etc.

But hey, wear what you want!

I wear ... (looks, chooses) an IWC Slevin to work today.

I'm sure I should choose something that says what I do or something, or something that matches what I'm wearing, but I don't think like that about watches.

For me it depends on the suit i'm wearing and if i wear a tie or not... i must confess my PAM1 doesn't get much office wristtime lately. The main rotation watches are Rolex 1665, frankenDJ, IWC Pilot Chrono 3717, Ingenieur and Ingenieur chrono... and of course my Monaco :)

This was my first thought upon seeing the title as well

My next thought, was "Someone needs help choosing a Sex Watch??" *vision of person thinking "Yeah!! I'm gonna get my freak on, I've got to put on my Sex Watch!!"

:lol::lol:

Panerai buckles can dig into one's partner. Either remove, or handle with care

Why invest in an expensive watch winder when a collection of hardcore pornography will do the same thing? Rocco Siffredi wears a Panerai. Not too sure of the model number or if it's a rep, but, he wears one...

And the essential bedroom ettiquette, for partners/companions of watch enthusiasts, please follow the words of Patrick Bateman:

"Don't touch the watch!"

And as for wearing a watch for 'regular work', I wear my 127 about 99% of the time, occasionally swapping for my 029a. I don't have to worry about getting a watch wet whilst working, so I'm not concerned about the straps (I'm not concerned about the watches getting wet either, I know they don't leak  )

mine is Chopard GTXL & IWC 3717 for those smart casual (shirt) days and midpriced gens for the t-shirt days. Generally, i try to choose the watch that compliments the occassion and outfit.

LOL. this has to be the highlight. lets start another thread "watches in porn movies".. haha. I was wondering when someone would bring this up.

Once a watch makes the "as close to gen" as humanly possible it enters the rotation with gens. And I wear whatever I am in the mood to wear. Reps that are far off the mark or fantasies are only getting weekend or no wear.

I do the same.... except for the "enters rotation with gens" part, since I don't have any gens anymore. :p One of the managers I report to was drooling over my 3717 yesterday. He's got a TT Datejust that is clearly gen.

I don't see any of my customers face to face so I just wear whatever to work, but usually nothing to good. My family owns our business and I don't want anyone knowing how much money I make or don't make. When I meet with my customers then I usually wear a PAM or something nice. None of them even know what Panerai is so I guess it doesn't really matter too much.

A gold star for you thanks to the "American Psycho" reference! GREAT, GREAT movie. On an OT note, we're having a "Big Lebowski" party with some folks from the neighborhood this weekend. We're having a dinner and then watching the movie and drinking White Russians! Too fun.

I only have PAMs, so my choice process is a bit different from everyone elses. ;) I pick it based on the strap. If I'm wearing black/gray pants, a watch with a black strap, if I'm wearing khaki or brown, a brown strap. My incoming 064 will be the jeans/t-shirt weekender. Of course, my dress code is business casual, so no worries about fitting beneath shirtsleeves, etc. I just unbutton the cuffs or roll them up a turn or two...

I saw a fella in the Starbucks in Dublin, OH wearing a 111. One of the few times I've spotted a PAM "in the wild" in the midwest. I miss The Brazenhead!

Anywho......

I have a coworker who won't wear his gen sub to customer meetings, another who usually drives an M5 but bought a Hyundai Accent just to drive to customer meetings.

I'm currently wearing a poor quality Rep of a Sub.

The question " Hey, did you get a new watch" was followed by "It's a Rep".

"Yeah that's what I thought." ensued.

Well.

Really it looks awefully wrong.

Need at least a SSD to look gen and then say "No mate, it's a Rep"

"Oh what?, REALLY?"

LOL!

The next answer as to whether or not you say "YAY" or "NAY" is down to you!

My collection not being so extensive I rotate three watches. My work watch is a BR instrument. Its all black and goes with any thing I wear to work. It wasn't expensive and keeps pretty good time. Not to mention the women in the office dig the square face.

Might it be an 069?? :p

I wear pretty much any of my reps to work. I used to not wear my SS Breitling Evo on the theory that it was a bit too fancy, but even that barrier has dropped. As you might surmise, I'm not into bling or mondo watches

Today my choice happens to be the UPO with black bezel/orange numerals.

My goodness Vic, you really do remember things.

Yep, my GF and I do joke around about the (ahem) unusual medical situations she and her DJ find themselves in - such as up to her elbows in the ceremonial excised bowel section cutting-openings she has to do in the OR suite, yuck. She truly earns her money.

To be honest, most actors don't tent to wear anything nicer than an SS Walmart Special. I've not seen any decent watches in movies other than Rocco's PAM (and a few fake Submariners (I say 'fake' rather than 'replica', as they were such poor quality, they were pretty obvious)

Absolutely awesome :good: Try not to get so drunk that anyone feels the need to recreate the scene where the Dude's rug is 'soiled' ;) Awesome film, I'm not sure what makes me laugh more: "I'll suck your c0ck for a thousand dollars...", "Just because we're bereaved, that doesn't make us saps!" or "This is what happens when you f*ck a stranger in the ass!"

Likewise, I tend to roll my cuffs back, or wear T-Shirts, yet I can't stand buttondown shirts with short sleeves. Something very wrong about those...

Might it be an 069?? :p

It should be the Cazzomir ;)
