Stephane
Rolex 5513 Dear All, "Rollies Dependence Disease" said Mrandazzo (Now known as RDD) "Stephane you need yet another Rolex" said By-Tor. Guys, you are so right I needed another Rolie and this one is not only great, it was unexpected. Date or no date, that is the question said William Rolspear I have been wearing watches for a while now and always wanted a date. Even better with a day and date complication. From all the watches I wore, the Rolex sport line ones are my favourite (oh really ). They are simple, nice looking, comfortable, …so why not get a no date? I guess the answer is I like the no date now 5513 or 5512? The 5513 has less text on the dial. I always preferred this dial version. Since a long time I was hoping to get a 5513, possibly a good one, highly modified. What has been done on this 5513 before it arrived? This was presented as a MBW 5513 with Rivet bracelet by JustAsGood, and it is. It carries a NDT dial and also NDT hands. A Gen T-19 Crystal is installed. Gen gasket. The tube and crown are genuine of course. On top of this we also can see it has genuine Springbars. The final touch is a Slow beat ETA movement. The case has been modded including lugholes, shaping and CG's but that goes without saying. The bezel is a high quality aftermarket bezel assembly including an insert (that I decided to change though). I can't help it, I love the crown and crown guards on these Rolex and JustAsGood did a perfect job here. What did I wanted to change? I wore it for a while and was not completely satisfied. Ok, I recognize that I am a spoiled kid. But there was something wrong with the 3-6-9 markers of the NDT dial and with the colour too. So, I asked MM if he could do something…and he said "I can try!". The hardest think was to "touch" the lume of the NDT dial of course. A very tricky job to get the 3-6-9 markers look right and to apply the whiter lume. Look at the matching "white" hands now I love these "tiny scratches" on the Mercedes hand The other thing that the baby needed is a good insert: ClassicWatchPart was our choice here. I received a great gift all the way from down under from Bazz. A beautiful pearl. Now it's on the watch Bazz, thanks again. And of course, the genuine T19 crystal was put back on the watch. How did this baby land on my wrist? JustAsGood's initial post that made me send a PM right away. Our trade review. Conclusion Once again, I was fortunate to find a long desired watch and have it land safely in my home. Of course, as I'm totally unable to work on my watches, I'm even more lucky to have my dear MM to make the changes I was looking for once again. (Pls do not PM me for MM details. It stands for Mysterious Modder and as such I will not disclose the information). Thanks to JustAsGood. The transaction was very smooth and getting this watch initially mailed to a New York hotel where I was staying makes it even more fun. By the way, a genuine 93150 with 580 endlinks should arrive next week it will make this watch even better @ ALL: Thanks for looking. Cheers Stephane
Jetsons
Darn nice 5513 and great report/photos!. Big improvement on the dial markers and patina. Nice touch with the vintage style crown. It's perhaps my fave of all your watches, 16600 excluded from company I don't think you can get any better than this unless you spring for the gen, but those are over priced, IMO. I hope this beauty finds room in your luggage on your next visit to the Big Apple. Enjoy! J

By-Tor
What a beauty! I wonder why the no-dates have become my favorite stainless steel Subs. There's something about those clean, balanced lines without the cyclops. Enjoy (I'm sure you will)!

My pleasure. I love it too Fabulous result Stephane! I love it when these Frankens become so much more than the sum of their parts. Don't suppose it's up for sale? Indeed, this one carries a cute story again and some serious skills from other members. I love the watches with a story even better. And no, it is not for sale Great pice Steph! Thank for the compliment Very nice watch. I'm afraid my wishlist keeps growing ( would be great if my bankaccount did the same ) Wear it well. Carpe Diem Cats Well, our wishlists never ends and you are right, it's a pitty our bank accounts can't feed all our desires, but it's part of the fun too... Stephane up until there was one person I was jealous of: Cash Warren for getting to have regular sex with Jessica Alba. Seeing your collection of vintage Rolexes, there are now two people I'm jealous of Wow, she doesn't look bad. But having said that my watches are never in a bad mood Beautiful job Stephane! Now of course you'll need a 5512 Ah, my god, that is exactly what I was thinking about What a beauty! I wonder why the no-dates have become my favorite stainless steel Subs. There's something about those clean, balanced lines without the cyclops. Enjoy (I'm sure you will)! Agreed BT. Couldn't one say that the no date is the mother of all subs at the end of the day? The cycloped date is a nice feature but when it comes to design, the cyclop ruins it.

JoJo35
Ok, well, I must say that I looked at it for a while and can't spot the mistake Stephane, The dial looks 100% gen including the tritium (notice the little "feet" on the corners of the 3,6,9 markers?) The mistake I was refering to is an obvious one, and makes me question the history of this advertised "2.6 mil" 5513. It has a twin-lock tube and a trip-lock crown. Back to topic! Your watch is surely a gem, wear it well and in good health
