ubiquitous Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 A gorgeous timepiece, and one of my all time favorites! Very nice!!
halley Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 - Yes I'm very happy with this one, I'd kill for a vintage monaco though, can't believe it's not repped yet!!
yellomen Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 What a beauty!! Just love the Monaco Where did you get it?
halley Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 ZEETAN - Collectorstime.com He is a great guy he does what he says, and he has incredible price - I'm now eyeing his Zenith EP with a price 60% cheaper than 500m from my home, crazy.
vdubpower Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 whats the movement, does the chrono work? how much, looks very nice
Edge Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 whats the movement, does the chrono work? how much, looks very nice Tis Genuine lol
Edge Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 dArnit, is there a rep similar, ? Unfortunately as of yet there are no good reps of the monacos, I would def be in for one if there was.
panerai Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 TTK used to stock Monaco reps but the quality was just ok compared to the original... nice watch wear it well.
Jetsons Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 I thought that was a gen. Awesome watch. Here's a nice description on the re-edition Monaco: TAG Heuer Monaco Re-edition is a re-release of the classic Steve McQueen chronograph from the early 1960’s. It is in a 46.3mm (including the lugs) x 38mm x 13mm satin finished SS case with polished bezel. The case back is secured by four tiny screws, and it is water resistant to 30 meters. The watch has signed crown and acrylic crystal, like the original. It is available with matching signed SS bracelet with push button deployant clasp, long enough for an eight inch wrist. The bright blue dial has pearl white sub registers, white gold baton markers, and quickset date at six. The TAG Heuer cal 17 (base cal ETA 2894-2) 37 jewel automatic movement maintains accurate time to two seconds per day. Zeetan has an excellent reputation. Goof choice on the dealer. Jet
Hok Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) its not the mcqueen, but still looks nice. king has it, with asian auto Edited March 25, 2006 by Hok
Guest TTK Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) Sorry ...but that is the McQueen......! I own 3x genuines......plus a myriad of reps...and the qualitywas better than just OK.....! BTW.....the one that King does ...is not very accurate....the chrono push button surrounds are missing....a big reveal......! GENUINES REPLICAS http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-11/71140/TAGMONACO007.jpg Edited March 25, 2006 by TTK
halley Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 My ultimate dream would be a vintage now, butI admit the MONACO was the watch that brought me to RWG, I immediatly bought the MONACO from Neil, and it served me very well for 6 months. The Monaco McQueen is simply a killer on the wrist, great contrasts, perfect accuracy, VG finish and simply a tremendous strap and deployant. This watch looks best with the alligator strap to me, too massive to use a SS bracelet for my small wrists. Zeetan is the man for genuine, great price, honest, stands by his words! I know I'll buy again from him, and I hope soon for a zenith EP!
Hok Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 (edited) ! BTW.....the one that King does ...is not very accurate....the chrono push button surrounds are missing....a big reveal......! @ttk you're right, a nasty flaw. what movement does your mcqueen use? @halley would you like to say a word or two concerning the mcqueen rep? halley Posted March 25, 2006 Author Report Posted March 25, 2006 Here are my comparison I made back in the days... http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...=1851&hl=monaco and scans of the watch I received on a banda leather strap croc grain and deployant: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...=3084&hl=monaco
eunomians Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 One fine day, I'll have to scoop up a vintage Monaco. Also on the list is a vintage Autavia, and the ever elusive vintage Camaro. Wow. Great pics you guys. Now I am drooling like a St. Bernard.
halley Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 Can't agree more with you David! A vintage heuer, yeah!! price is crazy though
eunomians Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 You're right, the prices for vintage Heuer is absolutely crazy now. And it keeps getting crazier every year. I better buy some soon before they become unreachable for me CHEERS Halley!
