Stephane Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Hi All, Crossed a DB5 in Brussels this morning. Perfect condition! This guy was very young looking to drive this car and I guess we would love to be as fortunate as he is He even bought an interresting plate Cheers Stephane
Seadweller4000 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 What a wonderful car. The famous scene in Goldfinger jumps to mind imediately! Cool, we even share a taste in cars. Btw, I think this would siut your vintage Sub-collection perfectly, my friend.
By-Tor Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Old cars... they have the "spirit". New cars... well, they're mostly soulless, sterile and boring.
vlydog Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Old cars... they have the "spirit". New cars... well, they're mostly soulless, sterile and boring. Agreed.
LordRasta Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Very hot car. It just keeps looking better and better with age.
Stephane Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Ah, yes guys, we do love cars for sure. And also, as BT said, old cars have the spirit. I hope I will be able to get myself an old Alfa Romeo Giulia or Junior again one day I was to young to keep it when I had the chance to own it and drove it untill it died ...
steppen Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Old cars... they have the "spirit". New cars... well, they're mostly soulless, sterile and boring. bet you wouldnt say no to one of the new ones though!
P4GTR Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Man thats nice. Old cars... they have the "spirit". New cars... well, they're mostly soulless, sterile and boring. Its still out there. I'd love to feel it, but I can't afford any of the cars that have it.
b16a2 Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 One of my all time favourite cars. I saw a DB9 earlier, and whilst I think they are beautiful cars, it would not have the same neck jerking reaction from me that the DB5 would get. A true classic!
UncleJay Posted June 14, 2008 Report Posted June 14, 2008 I have to say that's one of my faves. It's true about spirit and sheer neck snapping attention. I was once stopprd at a light with a Bentley GT, and ALL the attention went my baby, 1973 Stingray. My Favorite Cars: Aston Martin DB5 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 Daytona Ferrari Testarossa Ferrari 308 GTSi

docblackrock Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Hi All, Crossed a DB5 in Brussels this morning. Perfect condition! This guy was very young looking to drive this car and I guess we would love to be as fortunate as he is He even bought an interresting plate Cheers Stephane One of my (old-enough-to-have-bought-from-new) neighbours has an original '65 DB5 stashed away - not in the famous Thunderball 'battleship grey' though, jet black, very cool I love the car - just behind the 300SL Gullwing in terms of innovation and aesthetics. But the guy in Brussels just kills it with that hideous and cheesy plate. Probably a restoration job also. Not that many originals in private hands.
Tribal Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Wow great car with a great number Truly a classic. Man I love old cars and watches
Dizzy Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 cool!! how in the hell did he get that plate???? wow
Stephane Posted June 17, 2008 Author Report Posted June 17, 2008 cool!! how in the hell did he get that plate???? wow In Belgium you can buy them since a while. In example, mine is RWG.007
Seadweller4000 Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 In Belgium you can buy them since a while. In example, mine is RWG.007 You're kidding me, right?
docblackrock Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 cool!! how in the hell did he get that plate???? wow Lack of registration controls in Belgium + money + no taste. Thing is if he ever loses/sells/writes off the car, he'll be stuck with a plate that just won't suit any other car. Why DB anyway? Why not JB? Go for the full cheese factor of 10.0 Sorry it's a tiny flaw that just grates - like finding out Gisele eats snacks in bed (she does apparently )
scoobs1971 Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 I'm not that much into cars, but the 2 brands I favor the most are Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo. I know a guy who used to own a DB8. It was impressive, masculine, but classy at the same time
