Quarks Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Just got this big monster. Here are some pics of it:
coolfire Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Hahahaha..... That's one helluva 47mm MF!!! The Holy Grail of PAMs....
ubiquitous Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Holy smokes! First of all, I'm glad to see the fabled 187 rep has materialized! Second... That beast is huge!! Wowow!!
coolfire Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Btw Quarks, How are the bezel markers installed (on the bezel)?? Glued? Welded?... Can't be casted out right?
Quarks Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 I am not sure to be honest. It is not casted, I am def sure of that. Or simply email Ken: i_watch_com@yahoo.co.jp He could provide some insights on this.... and maybe more. Yes, this watch is beast. I might do a comparison shot with the Arktos sometime.

LOL.. the Arktos is only a puny 44mm...
Watchmeister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 You are right that it can't be casted. Neither is the the gen as it has white gold markers on the SS bezel.
Guest Sql_pl Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I mailed Ken yesterday... hope he wil answer me soon. Great watch! Cheers!
ehtolcad Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 great shots! perhaps one of the caseback though?
linkukbora Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Very Nice and I really adored with that beast
Watchmeister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 You mean kcabesac don't you? Here are the pics from Ken's site where Quarks bought the watch: http://www.etaworldgoods.com/panerai1.htm As Quarks mentioned elsewhere, Ken is acting as one (or the) international rep of Watchonpo so stay tuned to his site. His prices are high but the product is good. He is relatively new and just gearing up so he will be adding stuff. He currently has limited selection but is very courteous. He does not take pp though. But in fairness, it has been quite a while since Watchonpo inventory was available using pp.

Btw, i may have missed out, but have you gotten your 187 yet, buddy?
Watchmeister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Nope. But now I know that by hook or by crook I will be getting one. If I happen to end up with two (doubtful), I will sell one. And yes, if that happens I will offer it here. But at this point I have no idea.

Oh btw Quarks, any caseback shots...? would love to view 'em...
chris5264 Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 I can't believe I'm going to buy this. I just ordered the 024 but wish I would have put the money towards this totally cool piece. Looks great but I will probably wait till the price drops a bit and it is offered by someone form this group.
thomasng Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 (edited) 100,000 yen ($1,000 Canadian) is just way too much for this piece if it doesn't contain a 7753. If it did, I would be all over it. Edited March 19, 2006 by thomasng
Watchmeister Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 Hi admin- You are absolutely right. It will come down in price. If I had the freak on my wrist I would be patient too.
Finepics Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 I'm only guessing but I would have thought the markers are located with lugs and drillings and fixed from the inside of the bezel. Anyone who has had their markers come off the Arktos (I know one person has) - do they have locating pins on the underside of them even though they are just glued on?
steelerfan Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 @finepics I lost the W on mine, no holes in the bezel. Just a W engraved into the bezel where the glued on W was seated into it.
M5Man Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 Love that watch - the look is amazing. If it had a 7753 I would be ordering it right now.
marsupilami Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 looks like paul is selling it soon... http://www.aspire-eshop.com/popup_image.php?pID=992ℑ=1
