It looks like brass showing through, maybe nickel plated, or chrome? I don't know what would be cheaper, whatever is cheaper is what it's made of I'm sure!!! Thank you for the compliment...I think the strap makes this watch a lot nicer...and the strap is a cheapo that came with my tourbillon from Homer!
