I know.. I've read it and it sucks... Makes me really wonder who would steal this watch.. Only someone who really knew what was it and honestly they are not many in this world.. For most of the normal robbers it would seem like a worthless piece of junk and not a 100K watch.

I bet the robbery was planned by somebody who knew him...

If I owned something like that I'd keep the info for myself and he probably told it to all of his friends and to somebody which he thought was his friend...

he definitely told the info to a WRONG person....

This guy owns a big watch store in Netherlands so he is not a nobody who just happened to get ahold of a 3646..

I have been to his store in the Hague, he had some very exclusive vintage watches on display at the time I visited his store.

- Several double red vintage Rolexes.

- Rolex Paul Newman' s.

- PAM Big Eginzano.

- PAM 5218-201a.

- PAM 5218 White Dial Slytech Panerai.

- Vintage brown dial Radiomir with Rolex movement.

- Radiomir 3646.

- AP Royal Oak offshores.

- And many, many more high end rare pieces.

A real shame he got robbed, read on his website a few months ago that 2 watches where stolen from him including a 50K+ Patek. How much bad fortune can you have in a short time.

These guys highly likely knew his store, knew who he was (you can recognize him from a mile away), and knew something or two about high end watches.

Robbed of 3 Watches in as many months?

Sounds like good ol' insurance fraud...

Tough economy and tough times...

All that money tied up in Pieces and a lot fewer customers...

Plan a heist and collect the money...

Don't think so?

Do a little research on White Collar insurance scams...

Happens everyday from folks you'd never expect it from...

TT

Let's see how he will explain to the insurance company that some common thief has stolen his 3646 which looks like a useless crap to the eyes of the non-experts in a parking lot.

There's been a lot of awful stories on Paneristi.com lately...seems like more scams occuring than normal. It makes you think that there are some nefarious lurkers there. And this guy was probably targeted IMHO.

Gen PAM market has become like our US housing market over the past few years...huge buying interest, people going into the AD and cleaning them out to only resell....flippers showing up at auctions. So along with the mania, you're going to hear about these tragic stories, just comes with the territory, sadly

If he was in on it, and planned to take insurance payment and resell, he wouldn't paste the serial number and info on the internet. Too easy to get caught if it turns up.

He and his shop and watches are probably somewhat high profile and he was targeted. Sure it was insured, but it sucks to lose the watch, and obviously he cares less about the money than the watch.
