That's got me absolutlely puzzled, I'm sure it's an above board auction but in all the photo's that GMT hand does look warped and there's no mention about it in the sale, can it be some freaky camera prob?

As one of the lead developers on the development team to re-vamp the Rolex GMT master, Charles Ulysses Farley noted that when the combination of the second, minute and hour hands came together and lined up with the GMT hand, even though that was red, it was next to impossible to tell the time in the set GMT. In a limited number of the early releases, he produced the new GMT II with a curved GMT hand that would still point to the correct GMT time, but could be distinguished even when the stacked combination hands occured. After a number of these early GMT IIs were actually shipped out to a small number of ADs, it was officially unveiled at a watch convention in Geneva. The reaction of the industry and master watchmakers was one of sheer disbelief and ridicule. Upon returning to their corporate headquarters, the board held an emergency meeting, and immediately fired poor ole Chuck U.

The greater mystery is what Brian's rant has to do with this topic. I don't disagree with his politics, just puzzled by what some guy selling a (presumably) fake GMT on the 'bay has to do going off on The Man.

As for the GMT, thanks for the tip although I'm not sure I needed convincing that it's a bad idea to buy a Rolex off ebay based on a couple of blurry photos.

My main intent is to share that photo of bent/twisted GMT hand. I have seen hands fallen off or loose on watches, but not bent/twisted like that. Looks like the GMT should be pointing to "6" o'clock if not bent. I also think it a gen but bad price given the observable damage and not knowing whether there are other hidden damage.

Also not just blurry pictures but perfect pictues showing a gen at 10:10. :D
