narikaa Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) Partly due to a boring weekend & still being marooned on 'Tony's Magic Island' when I ordinarily should be in 'The Land of Smiles' I came up with the idea of plagiarizing andreww's current thread..............but spicing it up a little. Heres how it goes........... First to correctly post what this watch is - WINS! Prize will be a brand new (mystery) rep shipped FOC Clues... Its not a rep , its in my personal collection (so its unusual!) Here goes................. Edited July 16, 2006 by narikaa

cornerstone Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Second that! Great game - it seems for everyone except Narikaa! Thank you! I'm totally stumped - and I've tried. Been looking at a lot of German watches - Tauchmeister and Trias - but not in cigar territory! Very cheeky game! But for those of us not in the "Land of Tony" it's getting too late... By the way, by the "Land of Smiles" you meant Dudley, right?
ubiquitous Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 It's one of them Folex watches, innit it?

narikaa Posted July 15, 2006 Author Report Posted July 15, 2006 As Puggy just 'Skype'd' me to say he'd been browsing my image hosting site and jumped the gun on the photo 'teases' to come............I'll level the playing field....
Pugwash Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 This still doesn't help. For those that need it, here's the watch so far:
retep Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Who knows a watch with on both side a dial? Or why else would there be so many buttons.
narikaa Posted July 15, 2006 Author Report Posted July 15, 2006 Who knows a watch with on both side a dial? Or why else would there be so many buttons. Only ONE face (Has solid caseback!)
Pugwash Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Only ONE face (Has solid caseback!) I feel this one getting away from me, and I really fancied a RegWatch.
narikaa Posted July 15, 2006 Author Report Posted July 15, 2006 People....This Needs LATERAL THINKING not research!!
Pugwash Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 People....This Needs LATERAL THINKING not research!! What's the chances it's a home-made FrankenRegWatch?

KB Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Ok I'm only posting to let you know I'm hot on the trail......................I've been hot on the trail since Reg started the thread..................and I'm no bloody closer than what I was yesterday Ken
cornerstone Posted July 16, 2006 Report Posted July 16, 2006 Aaaargh! The schadenfreude must be pure entertainment!! The closer I think I'm getting, the further away I realise I am....witness my pain: I thought that the case had started life as a Chronograph, but that a new movement had been retrofitted by turning it upside down (that the original crown was on the left as we see it - but the now functional crown has been drilled through the case and added to the right as we see it). The face looks a bit like it has some Tudor heritage - a bit like a circa 1970's Tudor Oyster Prince Ranger caliber 2452. But it looks too new, and the hour and second hands are all wrong. And it doesn't say Tudor Oyster Prince Ranger on it. (So really close then). The rotating bezel looks like it came off a 1970's Tudor Submariner. Put that together and you have a whole bag of wrong. I am totally humped!!
narikaa Posted July 16, 2006 Author Report Posted July 16, 2006 To stop some drifting too far 'off target'..... no trickery, no frankenfeatures, no Photoshopping, no modding at all......same as the day it was made, & the day I bought it (retail). Oh....and all the pushers/crowns are functional. .
