Timepiece
Here is something I really wanted to do for a long time. A write-up and pictorial of the gen and (Trusty) rep of my favourite Bond Omega: the Seamaster Professional 300M also known on this board as the "SMP Bond". I mainly used excellent material of devotees John Holbrook and Dell Deaton. Please enjoy! The OMEGA Seamaster Professional Diver has been worn by Pierce Brosnan in all four of his James Bond movies. He chooses the stainless steel full size with slate blue dial, blue bezel on a stainless steel bracelet

Toadtorrent
NICE!!! Welcome aboard to the world of the reviewers. Awesome stuff...and keep the write-ups coming. They're as much fun to research as they are to write aren't they? Great job!!

whitestripes
If it weren't for the slightly imprecise lume application, I would say this is gen: Even old-school SMPs don't have perfect crownguards! In fact, I've never seen such beautiful crown guards on a rep (except on cheap Asian 21J reps that have far more tells). Where'd you get it, if you don't mind? marrickvilleboy
Great write up! and yes, where did you get it from?
bosk
Yes...I agree...that is a freaking nice rep....best I've seen...pearl, bezel insert recessed, crown guards. Stick in a gen dial and it would be close to PERFECT. My guess is that it was purchased from Trusty a few years ago? -bosk

bosk
Closed factory reps aren't as good as this one. Shame about the lume... I agree...the closed factory is not as good as this one... here is mine....pearl is decent but CG are crap...they badly need some filing and bezel insert needs to be filed to recess it bit more. imranbecks
Not sure why I can't edit my previous post.. Anyway, wanna add that the Omega SMP 2531.80 is the definite Bond watch after the Rolex. I don't know why, I just don't see the Planet Ocean that is used in Quantum Of Solace as a Bond watch... The one with rubber in Casino Royale is an exception but not the steel on steel that is used in QOS.. How I wished he was wearing the 2220.80 model or the new one with the black face in the new movie instead of the PO.. Chino
thanks for the writeup, this watch is indeed an obliged rep, great info too! The misaligning in the lume job must go unnoticed in real life, in those macro shots they tend to jump a bit... good the pic is XXX times bigger! thanks for sharing, cheers! Timepiece
Yes...I agree...that is a freaking nice rep....best I've seen...pearl, bezel insert recessed, crown guards. Stick in a gen dial and it would be close to PERFECT. My guess is that it was purchased from Trusty a few years ago? -bosk You guessed right !!! (or researched my 'My Collection' topic) I ordered this SMP as my first rep and it got lost in the mail. After convincing Andrew that I did not receive it he sent me another one. My guess is that this was a kind of franken still laying around because it had this (non Bond) SMP bracelet and this defect in the lume marker at 9 So I ordered the correct bracelet and sold the incorrect one, asked Pugwash for advice for a decent lume artist in the EU and sent it off to palpatine for the lume job. Recently I ordered a new bezel insert with larger pearl on fleebay. But the colour is darker/less vivid blue. I will post a pic of the combination soon and will ask the members to comment, since I have no way to compare it to the real thing/colour.
