I was wasting time as usual insted of working and came across this Corvette Zr1 (600+ hp) video. Probably the most exciting car testing video I've watched.... My palms were sweating by the end... :D

Enjoy...

Great video JR!

What track was it, that was as impressive as the video?

No 5km/ 1 minute circuit that.

Loved all the varying corners.

You would need to do more than a few laps there to "learn" that circuit.

The track was at Nuremberg.

Here's an article

I just posted the video in the first link. Wish I could do that for a living :o

[Edited to add]

If you read the article, the Zr1 beat the Z06's fastest time on this track by 17 seconds

That is some great driving, the Chevy is bouncing all over the place on some of those exits! The Americans seemed to have desinged a car that goes around corners :p

Used to go to the Ring in the late sixties.

The Alfa's were the king of the Ring. Used to love see them Fly.

We'd hang out on the Dunlop bridges that crossed over the top of the track,

and watch them at 125mph defying gravity.

Those were the days.

That video of the Vette was very cool. Thanks.

GM is taking their handling characteristics much more seriously now than they previously were. They own an office and garage at the 'ring and they tested the new Vettes as well as the Camaro and CTS Cadillac there. The new CTS-V will outrun the new M3 BMW. They even tested the Cobalt SS at the ring.
