Samurai Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Some time back I had put up a thread reg. the Grand watch theft in Singapore. Here is a follow-up on that: INTERPOL, the international police organisation, has posted on its website a picture of a former employee of luxury watch retailer Cortina who has not been seen since $7.9 million worth of luxury watches were discovered missing on Boxing Day. Mr Jerry Ee, 35, is described in the Interpol notice as being about 1.62m tall, weighing 50kg and being conversant in English, Mandarin and Thai. His alleged offence was simply listed as 'theft'. The photograph is said to be a recent one and appears to be taken in one of Cortina's outlets. Mr Ee has been missing since the theft at Cortina's Raffles City outlet - said to be the largest heist in Singapore in recent memory - was discovered on Dec 26 and he was sacked. The Red Notice alert out for him means that any of Interpol's 187 member nations can arrest him on the spot and extradite him to Singapore. Cortina Holdings' general manager Jeremy Lim told The Business Times last week that among the 386 missing timepieces were a Patek Philippe 3939 and a Vacheron Constantin Les Masques, both of which cost about $500,000 each. Mr Lim said that such watches are difficult to offload. 'The theft is unfortunate because these are really good pieces. But being good pieces, they are quite easily tracked down. The moment you send it to any service centre around the world, we'll at least nab the buyer.' Mr Ee had worked with the luxury watch retailer for 41/2 years and rose through the ranks quickly, earning a promotion to senior supervisor 11/2 years ago. He is divorced with two children. His eight-year-old daughter lives with his ex-wife. He has custody of his four-year-old son, who lives with Mr Ee's mother and stepfather.

Corgi Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 I guess the officers on duty at interpol have been busy at work learning photoshop so they can make more artistic mugshots of their most sought-after criminals?
By-Tor Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Mr Jerry Ee, 35, is described in the Interpol notice as being about 1.62m tall, weighing 50kg "Have you seen him?" How could you even "see" a man that small? Someone could have carried him across the border... in his pocket.
offshore Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 Wouldn't think Interpol, or any law agency will catch up with this guy. They may however find some of the pieces....after the triads have finished with him. Offshore
