By-Tor
Without any paperwork in the $2.8 - $3K range. With the full paperwork & accessories maybe $3300 (absolute MAX). Yeah, times are tough and the prices have come down.
Toadtorrent
It also depends on how/where it's being sold. Antiquorum had a few up in their 2008-Nov sale, and they went over the estimages of between $2500 - $5000 depending on the unit, selling for $4000+. That auction had buyer's fever though...so prices will be over something like El Bay.
nikki6
It may be worth asking Lanikai? Or if you are reading Lani chip in? I'm fairly sure Lani pulled the trigger on one of these not long ago, or at least put out one of his famous Gentelmanly heads up on one he was looking at, so he wasn't bidding against 'one of the family' so to speak. its_urabus
Boston pricing is 3300 to 4200 but I'm sure you could knock off 10% from them easy.

jmarin.72
I bought mine 3k(in euros)with paperwork. But it was from a friend of mine purchased from Rolex here in Greece in 2004. So i am not quite sure that this is the real price of a used one out there.
watchguy07
I'm also looking at picking up one of these... What's the most desirable version? Were there any strage or different models produced? I love the look, and wear my rep almost daily...
Explorer
$3K US no problem these days, one for sale right now on rolexforums.com
chrgod
The Explorer II is a very nice Rolex, especially in white dial. Next to the Daytona, it is the only sports Rolex available in white dial. It is one for sale at the Timezone Sales corner for about 2880USD, a trusted seller without papers.
