importr
What do you peeps think of this? To celebrate the Vancouver games, Omega will release this special edition SMP. The differences being the white dial and a red bezel. The caseback has the games' logo aswell as the olympic logo. Is this something that would sell, or is it just another Colamariner style marketing excess? http://www.fhs.hk/Current/omega_vancouver_en.htm
patinga
I like it, but I guess everything is starting to look the same to me.
stilty
Vancouver? It should have a pot leaf on there somewhere. LOL. Just kidding. (I'm from Vancouver BTW) I'm sure someone will buy it, but personally I think it is damn ugly.
Shundi
Omega LOVES limited editions....they sell amazingly well in the Asian markets and they pull out all the stops to push the LE's "With respect to watches and jewellery, where turnover rose to 4,796 million (+1.8%), operating profit registered a decline of 10% to 828 million. This can be attributed mainly to the substantial and exceptional marketing investments incurred for the Beijing Olympic Games." Maxim
Some better photos, I think there will definitely be demand for a white SMP if they decide to release a plain version, especially with light blue bezel and the wave pattern.
takashi
nah... just part and parcel of Omega marketing strategy... The nicest LE SMP is the Titanium with grey dial wave pattern and white gold bezel enclosed in Oxygen tank. This is commemorating the Seamaster anniversary. http://www.watchseller.com/omseamprof15.html
Wayward
Looks awful...is it just me or do the hands look longer than the Bond SMP?
e6rnd
I dont think its that ugly but not something i could see myself wearing
pilotwatch
It would be tough to pair with a lot of stuff but I like the fact that it's different. There aren't many red/white watches out there that I like. I'd buy the rep...in a 21J at a sub-$100 price point.
Toadtorrent
I've seen the gen and I have to say the red is a little too

chefcook
Actually I hope they rep the vancouver soon and in high quality. Imagine this on a white leather strap with red stitching - perfect for summer!
triplehd
Im actually building a White Seamaster (same as the bond 2531 - but dial is white). The insert should be silver as the gen, but cant source one. Therefore, Im using a blue insert. Once finished, Ill post some pics.
If you see Kay
Vancouver? It should have a pot leaf on there somewhere. LOL. Just kidding. (I'm from Vancouver BTW) I'm sure someone will buy it, but personally I think it is damn ugly. either that or a couple of semi automatics or some handguns. lol (yeah, I'm from Vancouver too, and no, I wouldn't get one). I've seen one in person and it does look rather nice, though.
Guest carlsbadrolex
Did you check with OFrei ??? I recall seeing a silver SMP bezel insert on their site awhile back when I was looking for a PO bezel insert. Im actually building a White Seamaster (same as the bond 2531 - but dial is white). The insert should be silver as the gen, but cant source one. Therefore, Im using a blue insert. Once finished, Ill post some pics.
krpster
Aside from the Olympic symbol hanging off the back of the second hand...I kind of like it. Agreed it's a bit loud but certainly not as much as a UPO pumpkin. Besides it does make it unique.
