ssabripo Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I was looking at getting a good deal on a gen PO, and found one on timezone....the guy sent me his pics, but the emblem is not very visible and not sure if it looks right or not: any ideas?
Shundi Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Concur, I say gen but a movement shot is always a plus
b16a2 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 That's a genuine. I really like the look of the Orange PO, on a black rubber strap it would look great in the summer!
chefcook Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 I don't like the pearl. On my gen it looks more recessed. Is there a difference regarding the pearl from the 42mm to the 45mm PO? My is 42mm...

Not sure if it's just the shadow or the camera angle, but the feet some wierd.
ssabripo Posted May 30, 2009 Author Report Posted May 30, 2009 here is a closeup he sent me....I feel better what do you guys think?
chefcook Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 The logo on the dial looks good, but I still don't like the pearl. On my 42mm gen it is completely recessed from the bezel surface and the white gold surround of the pearl is thinner on my gen.
krpster Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Looks GEN to me. I tried a 45 on at AD before and the pearl looked like that.
ssabripo Posted May 30, 2009 Author Report Posted May 30, 2009 i talked to him on the phone...the watch is a grey market PO. He has all the paperwork, etc, except that it is grey market. what are the pros/cons of getting a grey market gen? he wants $1500 shipped CONUS.
b16a2 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Grey market means you won't get an international warranty from omega, however, they sometimes come with a warranty from the place of purchase. I wouldn't worry too much as the co-axial movement is a workhorse. For $1500 if you don't buy it then Il take it, that's a steal!
Gatchaman Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Its a gen. You can tell since the space between the date wheel and the dial is very tight. The reps aren't as tightly fitted as this. I always compare the reps with the superb pics at Joyful Collection. Compare the dial/date wheel of this UPO gen (on the left) with the rep (on the right): The tolerances aren't as tight on the rep as they are on the gen. Edited June 5, 2009 by Gatchaman
