  2. Just in from Andrew, not bad.. It's the closed caseback version I took a shot with this one because I don't like the thick endlinks (the first shiny link that are closest to the case on either side) on the newer open caseback version.

  3. One of the SoCal family owns a gen Black Themes... and although he will remain nameless, he provided his Black Themes for these comparison shots next to a Black Themes V2 secs@12 watch owned by me... In the pics, the gen is the bracelet version, the rep is the rubber strap version.... This last shot is a comparison between the gen Black Themes versus a The Zigmeister lumed Slevin... taken to gauge the intensity of the lume versus the master's.... as my rep will be going for lume soon. Hope you enjoyed the pics... and thanks to the fellow SoCal member for taking the pics..

  9. Thanks, I think you may be thinking of the 5711's this is trying to be the old 3700 jumbo 42mm which had the smaller hands but no seconds hand, ultimately I'd love to swap the date disk and remove the seconds hand ohhh and age the lume!

  13. The bracelets came today - the clasp is shittier than the last version, if that makes people feel any better. However, while they don't accept gen springbars OOB, they can still be modded (the same way I outlined modding them in one of the other threads.) It's a real pain, but at least they work. Oh, also - the clasp on these wouldn't even close properly when I opened the package; I got to mod that just like the endlinks. Oh well, comme d'habitude in the rep game. Why must there be one error for every thing they get right?

  14. I've just finished this budget build based on a silix bought in m2m over on the other RWG. Wanted to see if I liked it enough to do a higher budget build using a spare gen cal 1030 I have. Softened the case, mild ageing, shaved the crystal height and installed a HR gilt dial and hand set. I ruined the original bezel insert with over zealous ageing so put this insert on from a sub rep I bought more than 15 years ago in Malaysia... Font is all wrong but it has aged nicely and with a quick bleaching looks nicely vintage in the flesh with a faint blue tinge to the colour... Got a replacement insert on the way but might leave as is. When I had finished it I asked the wife what she thought and she just said "it's all right but it looks like an old watch... Can't you polish it up to look a bit better?" Mission accomplished :-) Ian
