  5. Guys I am simply blown away with the watch Micky (SSTeel) has put together for me and wanted to share some pics/details. I have always been a fan of the DSSD as it fits my 8 inch plus wrist better than the regular 40 mm Rollies and has a great weight. I have owned no less than 6 of variants including some very special ones however this must be as good as gen (in some cases better). We started with a 'newish' version that a previous owner had done some work, namely a relume on the hands and dial and a double AR from Steve (amazing) The downside was some of the rehaut work and the fact it had an A movement, which is ok, but isn't a Swiss. So when another DSSD was offered, this time a great BK modded DSSD with a gorgeous Swiss movement I snapped it up! The brief to Micky was simple, use the Swiss movement, swap out the dial and handset, take the best bezel/case, fit the double AR crystal and refinish all parts into one watch, service to COSC standards and send back! (simple :-) The photos below clearly show what a truly amazing job Micky has done (yet again for me) and how stunning this watch is. I was in Rolex AD and can confirm that the 'Standard' Gen DSSD visually sits well behind this beauty with the double AR as the whole watch just pops! Its not easy to capture on camera, however the crystal disappears and it looks as if there's no crystal at all! Thanks Micky

  6. It seems really hilarious to me that folks in a rep forum suddenly get into a discussion about "IP-rights".

  7. Gotta disagree.....isn't that what all the rep makers including tc do already? Market demands is how I see it, give people what they want when for whatever reason they can't get it, that's how I see it [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. My friend @docthor hits the nail square on the head and wearing the current reps would drive me nuts, but to put it in perspective the people that would know fall into two tiny groups that overlap. Us and vintage Rolex obsessives. I would hazard a guess that together that is a very tiny fraction of one percent of the population. If the watch looks suitablely aged, most will have no idea or really care. Remember guys, we have a very rare sickness and even to me one watch looks pretty much like another from six feet away.

  10. @tefouane I'm not sure if I already welcomed you to the forum, but if not welcome. I'm very happy to see you posting enthusiastically on Breitling reps, it's something I know next to nothing about and I'm happy to learn. As you get to know the place, you will begin to work out who is who and make real friends here. Also there are one or two French chaps here besides yourself, we are very international.

  11. "Nobody said they will be TC builds, I'm simply using the last of his parts that's all." Nothing at all wrong with that. A good idea imho. How come? 1...TC did not make the parts, he assembled 'TC Watches' from parts he gathered up. 2...TC looked long and hard for some of the parts and had them made to his specs but he has no claim to them once they are removed from the TC bags. 3...When the parts are out of the TC signed bags, they are simply 'replica watch parts'. A watch made out of 100% TC parts but assembled by someone else may or may not be a 'TC watch'. Say what? 1...If you have a watch made out of '100% TC Watch Parts' and assembled by TC...it is a 'TC Watch'. No question. 2...If you have a watch made out of '100% TC Watch Parts' and assembled by Joe Anonymous...what is it then? 3...Did TC put each and every 'TC Watch' together himself making them 'Official TC Watches'...or not? Who knows? It all makes my head hurt...

  24. I just saw another post you started previously, and several similar replies. I'm not sure if you are for real, or shining people on. If you did decide to make a meeting, would find that you are not different from everyone else. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of war stories and embellishments that cloud the healing process sometimes. You can go and listen and remain silent. I'm betting you wouldn't be able to. Sounds like a perfect fit. Best of luck with whatever you choose. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. I've been rich and I've been poor. Rich is more comfortable I agree, but happiness comes from within and money really doesn't help that as much as one might think. Many, perhaps most people are facing tough times financially at the moment. You know we support you, but speak truthfully, I agree that you should seek help and support again.
