  6. Wonderful to see this all together and on your wrist! Fantastic color on the dial, too. Reminds me of the lume job on stilty's landmark Explorer franken. You're welcome, and it's always a pleasure to share the enthusiasm. Anyone who loves a 1016 is a friend of mine.

  18. From what I have seen... About 90% of the 'new breed' of trendy mechanical watch owners know less about watches than the average stray dog. Half of them can't tell if their watch is running or not, much less tell what time it is without a cell phone. They walk around with the date changing at 12 noon asking if they should 'send it in and have it overhauled' to fix the date. One of them told me his watch was 'wound too tight' and would not run, then asked if he could turn the crown backwards to let the 'pressure' off.

  19. ...are all from Japan . I sold the main part of my rep collection and went gen...I started my latest WIS life with Seiko and finally got back to Seiko 1. My all-time favourite...A Seiko Marine Master 300 TechSpec: Name: Seiko 300M Auto Divers Marinemaster Ref.: SBDX001 Case: One piece structure, stainless steel Water proof: 300 m water resistance for divers Anti-magnetic Weight: ca. 210 Gram Lugs: 20 mm Diameter: 44 mm (without the crown) Thickness: 14.6 mm Bezel: 1 piece, black print coated, 120 clicks Movement: 8L35 Automatic 26j Hack function & Hand winding Accuracy: +15/-10 sec per day Power reserve: 50 hours Crystal: Dual-curved Hardlex with non-reflective upper coating Lumi Bright: hands and makers Here is one of the best reviews I ever read about it...it's in German but google translate will do the trick http://www.rruegger.ch/seiko_marinemaster.htm 2. Seiko Solar Diver Chrono Pepsi The main reason I bought this one here are the drilled lugs . First I thought about buying a Citizen 8020-53 Pilot Superduper Titan Radio controlled water boiling blow jobable watch...but once bought I had been told it's already sold out and I had to wait some weeks...naahhh... Went for that Seiko instead TechSpec: Stainless Steel Case Stainless Steel Bracelet Solar Powered Quartz Movement Chronograph Function Analogue Display Hardlex crystal Blue Dial White Lumibrite Hands & Markers Red and Blue Rotating Bezel Fold over clasp with push button and secure lock Date Display Between 4 and 5 O'clock Position 200 Meter Water Resistant Screw down crown and pusher Case Diameter: 47mm (wears a lot smaller) Case Thickness: 12mm Weight: 182gm 3. As some of you already know I'm a very ambitious hobby chef . So I spent some serious $$ into knives...one can't have enough good knives 1 Nakiri, 1 Santoku, 1 Funayuki and 1 Yanagiba So...I hope I'm set now...I always do

  20. Sounds as if the coil driving the main hands has gone. I've never done it but I have read others have replaced individual coils and got them working that way. However if you have a complete movement ready to drop in, it makes sense to do that.

  21. That's a lousy feeling. On the bright side, if it was a gen, you'd be out $6k. That's one of the wonderful things about reps! My daily beater is an Omega PO that I've treated horribly. I swim with it, wear it doing remodeling work, built a stonewall while wearing it, etc. It's so scratched up now it looks terrible. But on the bright side, it cost me $225 and those lovely Omega LMPO's are calling my name! Still it's lousy to lose a watch you love. Hope you find it. If not, you should drown your sorrow in a new Cartier or Rolex to ease the pain until it turns up in some small pocket you didn't realize was in your luggage...

  22. 90% of people don't know what an automatic watch is. 9.9% of people know what an automatic watch is but don't know the different movements. .099% of people know the different movements and might notice the difference if they had the gen vs the rep side by side. .001% of people would notice the second hand speed without a gen beside and know it to be a rep. The good news is that .001% of people are either watchmakers or members of this site! It's a cool rep that you picked up for next to nothing, enjoy it! That's my 2 cents anyway
