Speaking of snow....Just dragged my ass inside after an "emergency" tire change. Woke up this morning, and there was an inch of snow outside. Think I set a new record changing to 4 snow tired today.... and I'm sure these left over bolts are nothing to worry about -

Great post, CS. Now you do of course understand that I have given the orders to the RWG hitmen to get you, after revealing company secrets -
And while the sun is rising in one part of the world, the sunset here was 2 hours ago; A couple of months ago, we had sun 24 hours a day. A couple of months from now, we'll only have 2 hours of dayligth each day.

This is not exactly a new feature, as it has been available for some time, but I thought it was about time to introduce it properly, because it is an interesting addition to our forum. The WIKI is a place where anybody can post an artcle, guide, FAQ, etc. and the other members of RWG can then edit this post. People can edit it to add images, add more info, correct spelling mistakes, etc. The most famous example of a Wiki is of course Wikipedia, the online encyclopedia, created by users all over the world. With the help of this tool, the entire community can help out creating great guides for both old and new members. This will also be a centralized place for FAQ's, useful articles, etc. This is also where all of Ziggys great articles can be found now. These articles are however only available to RWG supporters ([email=http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autocom=ibwiki&cmd=article&id=29]Upgrade info) I encourage members to suggest new categories and also to start posting articles that all the members can build on in the Wiki We will also allow members to post new posts in the corresponding sections on the forum, linking to their wiki articles, either just for info of if they need help building guides, etc. Feel free to post any questions regarding the Wiki in this thread., The link to the RWiki can be found in the top bar or you can use this link: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autocom=ibwiki

Wondering why Josh isn't listed in dealer section
Admin replied to wraithride's topic in General Discussion
Chronsu, the existing links in the links database needs to be updated by the mods/admins. And we don't always manage to keep up with the new websites of our dealers or other site changes, so feel free to report links broken and send the addresses to us -
Wondering why Josh isn't listed in dealer section
Admin replied to wraithride's topic in General Discussion
Joshua has changed his website address several times lately. The link has probably been removed from the links-area because it was not working. JuanJulio is refering to the "collectors area" area here at RWG where he is listed; http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=19 Feel free to add a link to Joshuas site in the links database -

Great video -
Hi I guess the opinions on the different members are as diverse as all the members here. I find most of the members to be easy going and fun to have here Not sure why you could not register with Natron, but I ahve taken the liberty of chaning your username and display name, as nobody was using Natron as their username/display name.

Many interesting thoughts. I'll ad mine, as soon as I have time available. Busy times at work

The intent and heart of this Topic is truly appreciated... However, the Mods & Admin here at RWG have always had a open and consistent dialog with the other Board leaders. Information flows pretty freely... And is always shared within our Admin section... If anyone is ever aware of issues with trades or members that are a cause for concern... Just PM one of us and we'll communicate through the established channels... Thanks, RWG Admin Team

All of Ziggys articles are available in the Wiki, but they are, at Ziggys request, only available to RWG Supporters (upgraded members)

Yeees....modern OSes...so why do you bring Linux, BSD, Solaris and Mac OSX into this hehe...that was supposed to be MY next argument Also, the NTFS file system has been upgraded on Vista, so the fragmenting is not that bad, even on a default system.

Should be OK now

Sorry, bit I just think we'll just have to agree that we have different opinions/experience on this and you are wrong Not refering to any lab-test here (although with the physics involved, it is logical that a harddrive will work faster with the fragments of a file in one place than scattered around the different disks inside a hard drive). If you've had your computer running for a year and never defrag'ed it, you will notice a difference in performance if you defrag you disk, almost no matter what kind of defragmentation software you use. If you use an optimized program, like Diskeeper, the difference will be very noticeable. And I'm not sure why you are saying that if you run Vista, you don't need to defrag . Any OS that write/delete/rewrite data to and from a disk will usually end up with a fragmented disk. So the defragment program is still included in Vista also

How to Show your Skype status in the forum.
Admin replied to dax's topic in Introduction/Rules/Support
Just did a search for "skype" and the post came up as nr.4 on the search results, so I'm not sure why your search didn't find it; -
Well, I disagree with you on both of these, Pugs Depending on the software you use, defragmentation can make a huge difference. Most hard drives today have nothing more than 8-16MB of cache and that's not nearly enough. Today, you have modern defragmentation software that use algorithms to calculate what programs you use the most and what files are accesses the most and then defrag your disc so that these programs are accessed faster. Even a defragmentation by the default windows application will help speed up most computers, as your data will be stored in the same blocks and not spread around the disk. This will help reduce the time it takes to access the file and reduce the seek time and what is known as rotational delay. Same goes for the page file/swap file. I have 4GB of ram (althoug only 3192MB show up due to Vistas stupid way of handling memory mapped I/O ), but the system still use the pagefile for many purposes, although not as much on my computer as it would on a machine with less memory. A "normal" computer with XP or Vista installed, will usually have 30+ processes running, and every single of these processes require their own amounf of memory. If you are working with large programs/large files, a single process can use all of your available RAM. So sometimes it might be an idea to increase the % of your harddrive that the page-file can use. T
