  4. How true. or as my bank manager once said to me.... "Mr. C I've asked you in to remind you of our relationship in an effort to persuade you to return to the original plan, where you bank with us and not the other way about." JTB
  5. .......now that's what grabs peoples attention.........double posts! JTB
  6. More by luck than design I venture to suggest. Protest in this form is in my opinion. I have no time for people who resort to these callous and inhuman methods. JTB
  7. Jeez.......I hope it didn't hurt?..............your severe move! JTB
  8. A very valuable post Rob. As someone who is working at the coalface in terms of doing repairs or modifications on reps over the past years you will have a fairly good handle on what the evolution of reps is. I have a feeling this will be a very popular thread. JTB
  9. Okay guys…….I locked myself in a dark room for 2 days with nothing but the CD, a hi-fi and a couple of bottles of Guinness (well a few). So here it is: Overall I would say that the CD is more of a mix of Townshend solo material and Who stuff rather than a ball-bustin Who album, which we have been used to in the past. A heavy feature of his writing on this is Townshend’s response to his recent brush with law. There are a two tracks where he doesn’t miss the boat, shall we say. Aside from these, one of my favourite tracks is the poignant ‘Black Widow's Eyes’ – a reference to the Beslan massacre. Also included on the CD is the much lauded mini-opera ‘Wire & Glass’ which has it’s roots in Townshend’s ‘The Boy Who Heard Music’ novella and blog. It’s excellent and is another illustration of Townshend’s master of storytelling in words and music, if you didn’t know that already from ‘Tommy’ and ‘Quadrophenia’. Overall it is a very good album. So far, not a match for the great Who albums of the past, but I think it will grow on me more. I’d give it 7 out of 10. Recommended and with 19 tracks also excellent value. JTB
  10. I'm worried for ya! Ah the great 2001 handbag heist..........they wanted to make a movie out of it called 'The Italian Bag Job' but thankfully 20th Century Fox Fur didn't fancy it.
  11. He obviously has the hangover from hell as I haven't seen him on this thread yet, so I'll just whisper this HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUGS! JTB
  12. I haven't seen that much backtracking since that wee numbskull gascoigne pulled his flute playing stunt in an Old Firm game and then said he didn't know what it meant. "Celtic got hammered" served no other purpose than to irritate me and possibly one or two others. Oh and by the way did you join the RWG Champions League Pool? Did you put your hand in your pocket and help RWG at the same time? Do you have a vested interest in this thread? Nah........didn't think so! Celtic got beat......that's more important. JTB
  13. You enjoyed that didn't you? I can tell - my observational skills are nearly as good as yours. Fact is we gifted them their first two goals and then we were chasing the game. Anyways it makes it 3-3. I was also sorry to here that a lot of people on the Glasgow underground failed to get home to Govan tonight...................DUE TO A POINTS FAILURE AT IBROX! JTB
  14. And I thought PoM was an RWG term only! Seriously though - they must be taking this revenge thing quite seriously! I wish I could be confident but with the injury list that the Poms have.........I can't. Not sure Flinty has the tactical nuance of Vaughny, and, he may not even be fit enough anyway! JTB
  15. Yes we do rely on Fergies Fannies to do sumfin tonight and much as it will break your heart doc - I think they will! Not so confident about our lot tonight especially with JVOH, Gravesen and Wilson out. JTB
  16. I envy you - Bali (minus bombs) is a dream place. The sounds of Rogers and Hammerstein are now swimming about my head. Best wishes on the forthcoming move. JTB
  17. I have a mansion, forget the price. Ain't never been there they tell me it's nice. I live in hotels, tear out the walls. I have accountants pay for it all. They say I'm crazy, but I have a good time. (Everybody say oh, yeah.....OH,YEAH) I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime. Life's been good to me so far. My Masarati does one-eighty-five. I lost my license, now I don't drive. I have a limo, ride in the back. I lock the doors in case I'm attacked. I make hit records, my fans they can't wait. They write me letters, tell me I'm great. So I got me an office, gold records on the wall. Just leave a message, maybe I'll call. Lucky I'm sane after all I've been through. (Everybody say I'm cool......He's cool) I can't complain but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far I go to parties, sometimes until 4. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door. It's tough to handle this fortune and fame. Everybody's so different, I hven't changed. They say I'm lazy but I have a good time (Everybody say oh, yeah.....OH,YEAH) I keep on going guess I'll never know why. Life's been good to me so far.
