  1. Did you source the crystal from Davidsen? Is it 1:1 to the original? If so and you can snap off the bezel and send me all necessary parts I'd be happy to do it for you. You pay shipping and send me $5 bucks to ship back. I'll need the original bezel, original gasket, and the new crystal. I put a sapphire in mine about 2 weeks ago and I just love it! I only wish the back glass were sapphire too, I noticed a few nicks in it this past week! Cheers, Jon Here's pics of mine completed.
  2. Several dealers have just released this movement. You can purchase the movement only from them if you have a 127 you want to upgrade. I'm considering this swap myself! Only flaw appears to be the large gears have blued screws. This is incorrect but I imagine they could be swapped with the non blued screws in the CN movement. Jon
  3. OMG ROFL and yeah I think Omega is swinging a little too close to those cracked out Rollies from Baselworld
  4. Wow I feel kind of dumb, or maybe I just think too technological because I assumed you would need a sewing machine to make a strap. Ignore my ignorance please. Photo tutorial will be well taken by myself. I have a belt I've been wanting to turn into a nice thick PAM strap, but haven't had the know how. Jon
  5. Unique design would be one of my main reasons. Plus they are quite large, which I like in a watch. I tried on a DD Rollie a couple of months ago and thought it looked like a ladies watch on my wrist . Pams are nice, big, bold, and with the perfect strap can turn alot of heads! And yes like the other members are saying. If you buy one, expect to see many more in your collection very soon. I've got the creeping PAM obsession. Its like for every 3 reps I buy, 1 of them is a PAM! Also, this will give you another reason to try one, for the most part the PAM reps seem to be fairly accurate. My 111h from EL seems almost perfect (in my eyes) as it only needed Superlume and a nice Strap (which I've already bought!) Can't say that about many reps out there, especially if you like big watches. I still to this day would love to have a nice Big Pilot rep, but none exists that are accurate enough or quality enough to spend my money on. If you have a decent size wrist, buy a PAM, you'll love it! Jon
  6. Welcome to the forums. Don't do like I did when I discovered this place and go absolutely nuts ordering more and more . Before I got my first two watches in the mail, I had like 3 more ordered. Which pams did you buy? Jon
  7. OMG! Is this the chick from Braveheart and Bond? I've stared at it for about 5 minutes now? Jon
  8. I don't think it is intentional, just honest mistake. Jon
  9. Hello fellow watch addicts! For those of you that don't know this about me, I HATE mineral glass with a passion. So when I found out my Fiddy was equiped with this crap I made up my mind either the watch or the crystal had to go! I sourced a sapphire crystal from one of our trusty dealers, Davidsen! Thanks dude, good look man! . He got it to me about a week or so later. I didn't have the necessary tools to just pop it in, so I quit BS'n and ordered the watch tools I've been wanting to get (crystal press included!). And today the Postman had a very special gift for me, my watch addict survival tool kit. Only bad news was the Post man came just as I was walking out the door to head to work . Oh well just a few more hours and it will be done! So tonight while my sweetie cooked dinner, I tinkered. I got the old crystal from the bezel. Equiped the dies in the press and low and behold, my Fiddy is now bulletproof, well idiot proof perhaps would be a better word. So here she is, my Fiddy with a Davidsen 1:1 sapphire crystal. Please note also, so that I don't give Davidsen bad publicity, this crystal is not the new AR sapphire he is selling now. I bought this before those were available. Now if my 3 26/26 TC Straps will show I'll be super set! Cheers! Jon Sorry if the pics aren't up to par, I'm no Pugwash!
  10. Just wanted to add a bit of information to the mix here. Some dealers here are referring to "mineral glass" as "synthetic sapphire" and "synthetic sapphire (gen sapphire)" as just "sapphire". The best way to check is the water drop test! It literally beads on sapphire. It will sit much flatter on mineral glass. Also the "thud" verses "tink" tap test works a bit too. Also on domed sapphire it usually has a very light pink hue, while mineral will have a white or very light green hue. You can also take your fingernail across the crystal. Your fingernail will seem to glide much smoother on the sapphire. It will actually feel almost sticky on the mineral. Of course all of these tests are not very technical, but I've learned to trust them some what. Here's the real test! You can just sit back, wait, and be patient. If scratches develop its a pretty good chance you have mineral glass. Then you can source a sapphire crystal and move on! . I just got a sapphire crystal for my Fiddy from Davidsen last week. I installed it about an hour ago. I'll be posting pictures later. I can tell you I know all of these tests because I am super anal about owning only sapphire crystal watches (or plastic, can easily be buffed). I HATE and I mean HATE mineral glass. I work on cars and often wear my watches in tight places. I need something that will not scratch. Your best bet is from now on do this. Before you buy a watch from any dealer, make sure you ask "Is this a 100% scratch proof Sapphire crystal?" They should be up front with you. But never do like a guy I work with did and take a Hardened Steel (Carbide) Razor Blade across your sapphire crystal to show others it's sapphire, because it will scratch and you will look very dumb ! Cheers, Jon
  11. Josh, I've never had any personal dealings with you either. But you have been quick to answer my questions. I'm glad you are posting this information on the forums not only to shead light on the situation but also to help us protect ourselves. Now we all know not to deal with this guy, just like Scott Hawkins. More power to you Josh, and I hope you get your money back! Jon
  12. OK thats what I was afraid of. I'll probably be sending this to have it serviced very soon!
  13. Hello all, Just wanted to share my good experience w/ RWG member Dirk Pitt. I purchased a very nice Ti/SS bracelet from him to fit my PAM 192. I received in about 3 working days and the item was exactly as described. It was even still wrapped int he plastics. I'll post pictures of this beautiful bracelet on the 192 very soon. Jon
  14. I would love to have a baseball strap, along with a baseball couch, and some baseball center inserts for my leather interior on my truck! Yeah I guess you could say i may be a little partial to baseball leather! Jon
  15. Orange PO vs. Black Sub = Black Sub for me Now on the other hand if you compared: Black PO vs. Black Sub = Black PO w/o even thinking about it! Jon
  16. The Zigmeister, Can you tell if this is the new 28K beats 7750? I've heard that only the new version has the regulator. Is this true? Thanks in advance! Jon
  17. Looks nice, I'm surprised the Joshua crystal fit the new case, but thats cool when it works in your favor its always nice! The HE valve looks good. as for the stem. the crown actually unscews from the stem so i would think you could unscrew the crown a little from the stem, making it longer then use a dab of glue to hold it from loosing up more! Just my thoughts, but by far I am not watchsmith! Hope I've helped, but the watch looks great. also 1 question. Does your bracelet have screws or pins? Jon
  18. Yes please do! I've got the 192 on a very nice distressed Toscana at the moment while my Ti/SS bracelet is in transit. Jon
  19. Yeah no problem. did I mention I stared at your avatar for about 10 minutes earlier . I finally figured out it she wasn't going to take any more off
  20. Good bass is nice, but good overall sound is a must. I've got tons of money dumped into my auto sound system. Can't dump so much into my home theater system just yet, at least until I buy a house F**kin neighbors As for the car though, I might ride by your house late at night and [censored] you off, but thats only if you live out in the sticks or right off the main highways and biways in town. At night, or just in neighborhoods I'm usually good about turning the system down, or at least the subs. For me, never owned any Stillwater Products (Kicker), I've had Alpine, MTX, Sony, Infinity, amongst others. I currently have two Rockford P3 12's. And though the subs themselves are important, the enclosure is also probably more important. I currently have a custom built (to spec) ported enclosure. If you buy great subs, a great amp(s), and have a crap box, the end result will also be crap. Just my rambling thoughts, I'm actually an installer by trade so I tend to elaborate a little much. Jon
  21. I'm just trying to figure out why anyone would want to buy an Asian 21J movement??? I've had about 4 or 5 arrive DOA Jon
  22. Yes Etaban, I replied to this thread at the RWI while they were still available. I was ready to buy then I figured out its just another 42.5MM version I'm ready for a nice 45mm version w/ 22mm band, AR, and SAPPHIRE! Oh yeah and a curved bracelet. Jon
