gen breitling parts avail... let me know soon.
shultz replied to Defender110's topic in The Breitling Area
Hi I am looking for one gen dial (black or blue) and one gen hand set for the SA. Can you deliver these items an how much would it be? I tried to pm you but your post box is full.... -
I hear you I will be in, definetely! BTW: My Super Avenger projects starts: Just bought an original bezel on the bay. Now I am waiting for ruby's SA rep. Ruby told me that the subdials do not have concentric rings. Does anyone have an idea where to source a gen dial?
-
Congrats! hese SAs are driving me crazy as well. I modded an Avenger Ti chrono with gen hands, gen dial, swiss 7750 and even a gen DW but it took a lot of time to collect all the parts. I tried to get gen parts for the SA but wasn't succesful. So I gave up. But now I am considering a purchase from ruby because these reps seem to be good bases for a modd. Where did you source the gen bezel?
-
Why? Because I am asking for a dress watch, now?

Thx for for your recommendations. I think I will rather vote for the Double Eagle as well. Would it be possible to post a pic of yours?

Hi there, since I moved from Europe to S. Africa last year I didn

Test: Silix’ Breitling Aeromarine Superocean H
shultz replied to Seadweller4000's topic in The Breitling Area
Wow! I am speechless! That is a KILLER review! I already ordered my black Heritage but your review answered all of my questions especially related to the dial design (sun decor). Thank you so much! -
From that point of view....
-
That's a totally different watch....
-
@ eddieplatt: Thank you so much for sharing these pics. But I can't notice a sunburst or sun decor as on the brownish dial version. Is here any sun decor on the black dial?
-
Why the hell isn't Graham producing a chronofighter with a normal crown and not that hand granate lever??? On the other hand the swordfish would be nice with no "bubbles". So unfortunatley not my cup of tea (YET!)
-
Yes, you're absolutely right! I am already owning two UPOs and I am working on a Fifty Fathoms Fantasy Frankenwatch project (BP dial purchased by Enzo over on RWI) based on a pseudo-Ruhla. But whereas the Franken BP will not match the real Fifty Fathoms that Heritage matches my taste a 100% because it has a real classy design, is damn close to the BP but the size is nicer: 46mm! I hope the black dial will show the same nice sun decor dial as the gen! On th eother hand: The brownish dial with a mesh band will be killer, too!

Hi there, I'll definitely pull the trigger on Jay's new Heritage. But I can't make my decision: Brown, blue or black dial? As we can see by Jay's pics the brownish rep comes with a nice spot on sunburst/ sun decor dial as the real deal. I asked him whether the black dial would be as shiny as the brown one but that doesn't seem so. Is there any early bird/ owner of the blue or black dial version on board who could post a pic please? I'd apreciate any help to make my decision. Thanks a lot!

New Breitling Superocean Heritage released by Silix
shultz replied to piratedzeus's topic in The Breitling Area
Gosh, what a beauty! I hope the black dial will be as shiny as the brown one. Very similar to the UPO but not that typical Breitling style. Will enrich my Breitling collection soon! But would be nice to see it with the new style rubber strap and the new folding clasp soon. -
Yes, I know. But the 3700 I want to "built up" by removing the seconds hand has got just dots as well. So I think for a vinatge project it would be a good choice. To be honest I am not a friend of blue/ blueish dials but like the black dials better.

Thanks for that advice. Yes I know these reps are damn expensive. Jay offered a nice quality Jumbo to me for a real reasonable price but he isn't sure wether it is an MBW MBK or whatever watch. His offer isn't listed at his website but I am steady customer and he ensured me hat the quality would be quite nice. I guess it is a similar quality as the common PP nautilus reps e.g. offered by Paul: http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=1928 As I can see it wouldn't be a bad base for a "vintage" 3700 project and I am pretty sure that nobody except 0,000000001 of watch interested people will notice further flaws. As it is my first PP rep (besides tons of other gens and reps in my collection ) I probably pull the trigger just to get a feeling for that PP stuff

Daytona4me's Review of the Porsche Flat-6 Chrono
shultz replied to Daytona4me's topic in Other Brands Area
NIce review! Mmmh I am afraid this will become an expensive month.... New Superocean Heritage, probably a Nautilus and now that Flat 6... -
Hi there, just after purchasing my latest watch (the big boy: entley 6.75) and while I am hunting for the new Breitling Superocean Heritage (see silix' page) I am still interested in a very good PP Nautilus Jumbo. I did my homework and read some reviews here but as I can see the genuine 5711 watch does have a crystal case back while the rep has got a closed one? Therefore I thought about buiding up/ modding the rep into a vintage 3700 just by removing the second hand. What do you think? Maybe anybody want to sell his PP rep or can recommend a source for a nice base watch for further work? Thanks a lot!

New Breitling Superocean Heritage released by Silix
shultz replied to piratedzeus's topic in The Breitling Area
I just saw the new Heritage (received my Bentley 6.75 from silix a few days ago BTW...) and felt in love immediately. I curious wether the dials are just available in brown and blue. I'd go for the black if available. This watch might be in the same league as my beloved SOSF! -
Breitling Blackbird Pics/comments *updated
shultz replied to mezzanine's topic in The Breitling Area
Thanks for that extensive information. I am owning the ultimate BCE and the early Ti Avenger chrono and the SFSO as well. Probably you have seen some pics here or over on the dark side or TRC. I modded the Ti Avenger with gen hand set, gen dial, swiss 7750 and (please note ) a gen Breitling DW! My BCE has been modded as well with a gen dial (arabic numerals) and movement swap and re-luming by The Zigmeister. My SFSO has been serviced and super-lumed by zig and this watch is the most outstanding rep I think. I took it with me for diving an it is actually water proof at least 100 Meters/ 10 atm. By viewing the Blackbird pics (except of that peral alignment thing) I second your opinion. It looks like one of the most serious out-of-the-box reps currently and I assume a good quality as well because most of the major issues of the BCE (as "base") seem to be sorted out. I think I am ready to order it. To be honest I am not that sad that the ss bracelet is not yet released because I have got a gen rubber strap in stock and that combo looks really straight I hope I receive my baby before x-mas time. Of course I will write a short reviews with pics asap! -
Wow folks, I am really impressed by that warm welcome! Yes it is a challenge for me (and my family which I have taken with me) to take one year off work to do something very different down here. After university and about 16 years on the job with serious business it was time to take one year off. Of course I m not a holy and ascetic man (I am still interested in collecting damn nice watches ). But it was time to give a bit back and it makes me happy to see how the people's situation (especially the children / HIV infection rate roughly 20%!) is improving step by step. Yes, the good fight is going on. The township where I am is located in one of the biggest and poorest areas of the Western cape. Of course help is needed all over the world and somebody may ask me why that 10.000 Km move? To be honest: It is the mix: SA is one of the most beauiful and challenging countries worldwide (other nations forgive me! ) and I am enjoying all that every day. On the other hand I am engaged in that care project. A win:win situation isn't it? Of course I have been to SA before and I have got a lot friends down here as well. @Daytona for me: I wish I had a $1Million inheritance Actually I saved many years to realize my work down here which is totally self-financed without any contribution. Thanks again for your kind words, it makes me happy to see people like you on RWG!

It is a pity that slix' 6.75 is missing the ar coating. Do you if his blackbird have a good ar coating?

Breitling Blackbird Pics/comments *updated

Nice review and very good pics. thanks for sharing! Actually the Blackbird is #1 on my list at this time but I am bit confused when I compared the pics of our dealers: I noticed different case back engravings and now I am confused whether the ar and other features would be different as well. The Zigmeister gave his o.k. to the movement but I really wan to make sure to get a nice watch. I mean it is not even cheap for a rep, am I right? -
Thanks for your warm welcome! Yes, I've got some reps on my list: 1. Blackbird 2. Bentley 6.75 3. Navi World All these big boys The navi hasn't been improved yet, especially the a coating is still missing. And for the other two babes I am a bit confused because I noticed some differences by comparing our dealers offers....

Hi all, I have been absent for a while since I moved from Europe down to South Africa to work on an AIDS/ HIV project. A lot had to be sorted out but now I finally find some time to care for my beloved watch hobby. I am happy to say hello to the community from my new home at the western cape. The AIDS care centre which is located in a big township is quite successful with that helping project and I am very glad that one of our famous members here (I don
