  1. Do you really think so? I assume there is a difference in case diameter between the 1st and the so-called ultimate version? If not I would give the 1st version a try (because of the dials with arabic numerals).
  2. Hi, I am going to order my steelfish but I can't decide: black or blue dial.... Is somebody aboard who can judge if the blue rep dial is close enough to the gen. Or would the black dial be the better purchase? Thanks
  3. I am wearing a PAM239 and it's very comfortable. But my (right handed) Fiddy is also quite comfortable
  4. Congrats! You're a lucky man! I am jelaous...
  5. Indeed: My name is shultz-cousteau But honestly: I was just interested because such a He valve isn't a big thing. You can find inexpensive diver's watches with working valves. But the really important thing to me is the waterproofness. I doubt in 1.000 meters but 10 bar would be nice.
  6. Does anybody know if the new steelfish (which is promised as waterproof) has a working He valve? As far as I remember the Avenger Seawolf rep has that feature. What do you think about the pearl of the new steelfish. Is it me or does it look not that close to the gen?
  7. The flashlight brings the dial colour closer to the real deal I should try that too when my my BCE is arriving in a few days...
  8. Yes, 10 bar is great! Thanks for that info
  9. Hi, my EVO hasn’t arrived yet but I’d like to know from those who already received their watches and took a closer look to them: Does the case construction enable waterproofness? As far as all important parts are screwed (back, crown and pushers) and the crystal is well pressed in I assume that chrono can be sealed without problems and will withstand a pressure of 10 atm/ 100 meters? What do you think?
  10. Thanks Woody. I have to second this in particular our concerns. That grey/ black version has been my first choice. Now I will wait for the black/ silver version. I hope that one will be much better. If not: Please welcome me in the grapphite club
  11. Shlutz? Who is that? Better let shultz reply: There is no contrast on the dial like the real deal. The pics are damn clear and I assume the dial isn't close to the gen. Just my two cent.
  12. Wonderful pics! As far as I can see my pre-ordered grey/ black EVO is way off. Probably I will choose the grapphite version instead. That chrono is a beauty, really
  13. You are right Joe. An alternative is -I said that- the black/ silver version. I'll wait for pics and then I make my decision. I have been waiting a long time since I made pre-payment and I hope I will get any information from Angus soon
  14. I am watching out for a pretty nice SA for a long time. This one seems to be nice but when I took a further look to the pic I saw that the "45" bezel marker is wrong: "4" on genuine watch isn't closed! Furthermore: Hands are too short and of course the date font is.... typically I guess it would be a good base for modds but it seems to be impossible to get a gen dial and -indeed- gen hands. Finally the closed "4" can't be fixed Nevertheless: That's a huge chrono and I am liking it. Probably I pull the tigger on it...
  15. I would really appreciate that because I made pre-payment a long time ago.... Unfortunately for the grey/black version (which is - sorry- not close to the real deal). I will wait some days until the black/ silver dial (743) version will be released. Problably I will go for that model then. If that one should be way off I will have to go for the grapphite dial finally. Mmmm, not my first choice but payment has been made early....
  16. Oops, I ordered the gry dial. But I feel scary by watching the pics? It looks more black isn't it? Angus: When will the black dial with silver subdials will be released?
  17. Hi there, I read several postings related to the above mentioned watches. But I’d like to know about the technical background of these watches / movements in particular how reliable the GMT construction is. As I can see from The Zigmeister’s review the GMT Master II with ETA 2836 and correct hand stack hasn’t got a very nice mvt. / GMT construction (He serviced mine recently and I am not unhappy*.J). But I guess the above mentioned models are constructed different because they are powered by asian 7750s instead of ETA 2836s. As both watches Navi World and PAM GMT come with the same asian 7750 mvt. which has been reviewed as working horses I can imagine the watches are basically reliable. But for the Navi World I assume some issues due to the stop function/ additional gears for the chrono function?! Is that right? What do our experts say? I know there are proud owners here who like their watches because of the style or whatever (of course I like it, too!). But *please- at his time I am not interested in aesthetical features or wearing comfort or what ever else. I am interested only in a technical review in relation to the mvt./ mvt. construction which is clarifying: Are these watches a useful purchase with a reliable mvt. or should I better stay away because of the GMT modification? Thanks for enlightening me!
  18. Yes, unfortunately . Welcome to the club . I purchased several dials and all (really all of them) arrived with noticable scratches, dings and dongs and often different to the shown pics. Some have been misprinted. Anyway: If it is just the lume let it (re-)lume plus hands and that's it. Sometimes scratches (if not too deep) can be retouched by clear varnish. But that is a very special job and success can't be guaranteed...
  19. Genuine Breitling and IWC are usually double side ar coated. My gen Colt automatic chrono has a remarkable bluish tone while the IWC is more decent and looks a little bit greenish (the crystals not the watches... )
  20. @uziuzi Just drop the crystal out with your fingers. No tools required. You have to remove the movement first and then the crystal can be dropped easily. It will not break, trust me. @pugwash / @ b16a2 I am in EU, too. I am going to send out two crystals on monday. Probably we can arrange a second run later? I want to get further two crystals coated but I am just waiting fro the new 7mm cyclopses. Maybe we can get a remarkable number of interested EU members together? Let me know!
  21. I've got mine a few months ago from another member here. It was a luck that the canon pin looks right and is not required to be swapped. First I did was a swap of the cheap strap for a BOB croc strap with fat 26mm buckle
  22. Probably I got the chemical smell for free?
  23. As markus said: Please request the dealers. But it was less than 50 bucks!
  24. Of course double like the gen Mine is on the way for double!!!!!
