  1. i'd pay $100 for it all day long
  2. its this one here i'd skip this one if i were you. the TC sub is worth twice the price. even if it means having to wait to afford it. http://blog.tc-sub.com/2012/05/tc-watches-list.html if you simply cant wait you can see what dealers still sell the classic noobmariner http://puretime-asia.com/product/submariner-16610lv-green-50th-anniversary-edition/
  3. ask for a better pic of the 12 oclock marker, could just be the angle.
  4. its honestly not bad, id leave it as is and just wear the hell out of it till it dies
  5. you can usually push them in with your thumbs. start with one side and snap the other side in with your other thumb. i wouldnt worry about tearing, theyre pretty strong. worry more about bending.\ TC bezel rings are a bit tigther than gen last time i checked, you might have to sand the underside of the insert down for a proper fit or risk losing it during wear
  6. its gen, i have a 93150 with a rounded 3. theyre usually from 14060 subs or i guess a service replacement
  7. ditto. got a blue bay coming home $100 aint too bad. still a rip off though. supposedly hand made in france closest i could find on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/22mm-Premium-Nylon-Military-Watchband-Watch-Strap-Navy-Blue-/281189245777?pt=US_Watch_Bands&hash=item41782f6351 its a 1 piece nato. but you can cut it and sew the ends to make them proper 2 piece straps heres a 2 piece with incorrect buckles http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2-Piece-3-Ring-Ballistic-Military-Nylon-Replacement-Watch-Strap-Band-for-PANERAI-/201116089726?pt=US_Watch_Bands&var=500286535406&hash=item2ed373fd7e i believe the gen is a fabric strap and nato are nylon i will probably end up with one of these 2 straps mentioned in the links above this tutorial here shows how to trim nato straps for size and also mod them into 2 piece straps http://www.stefanv.com/watches/turn-a-nato-strap-into-a-two-piece-watch-strap.html just to confirm, it IS a 22mm strap for sure?
  8. ive played with the gen piece, it can appear black sometimes. i agree with the tudor rose logo not being accurate on the dials. i feel the red insert gilt dial is actually a more accurate print. there seems to be varying quality control within the ZF factory i rejected two dealer pics and settled on one that was "good enough" the first dial print was below average missing print in some sports on the dial, crown stem was a little too long as well revealing too much of the tube end 2nd watch dial was perfect BUT the bezel ring wasnt installed correctly or damaged or something, in a side pic i could see the teeth and the ring sat above the case more than in any other pic. also the rose logo on the crown might have been missing some black paint in a spot 3rd watch. crown looks good, dial looks good, one of the minute hashes might not be a solid print but probably not noticeable at practical distances, bezel looks good, pearl lume might be a bit uneven, pearl looks centered, case back looks good. didnt visually inspect the bracelet. second hand looked a bit odd but could be an optical illusion. i know the watches shortcomings as a rep, i can live with those, but misprint and non functioning crowns improperly installed or damaged bezels, they need to get the QC a bit higher. wish dealers wouldnt even bother sending me pics like that, cant they just judge the obvious errors for themselves? after i receive the watch my concerns will probably be of the reliability of that clone eta tudor movement inside
  9. ive seen some dealer qc pics with that gap and i rejected the watch. there seems to be a wide degree of variation between assembly standards with the black bay ZF factory. from bad dial prints, to crown gaps, to off center pearls. ask for one made on a tuesday. i rejected a few before i could find one that was acceptable, and still i dont think it has a perfect execution. makes me anxious about the reliability of the clone tudor eta inside none of the blue bays seem to have a perfect tudor rose logo, the original red ones are better for some reason.
  10. not a good rep, never was. too bad cause i love the 14060 but wont own the rep its just terrible hopefully TC will make no date dials one day
  11. got a NEW photo marked my areas of concern in red 12 o clock marker being off center tudor rose logo being open instead of closed (print error) and the gap between (under) the crown and the tube (unless its not screwed down in the pic)
  12. your blue bay is a rep ? if so do you think you could snag a pic of the tudor logo on the dial for me and the 12 oclock marker?
  13. incoming black bay blue dealer QC pics does it pass? my only possible concerns are the hour marker alignment being centered, cant tell if illusion and angle or off center. and the crown where it meets the tube there is a bit of a visible gap. again hard to tell if just the angle any black bay owners want to confirm these being illusions? any other issues im not seeing?
  14. the unwrapping of a new watch is such a special moment. always chasing that high
  15. ah yup. their bezel assembly for a 16610 let moisture in their T19 is too large that a gen bezel insert wont fit over it, ironically even their own 5513 bezel insert wont fit over it. which is too bad because i actually find their T19 shape to be extremely close to a current 25-19 service crystal. avoid them
  16. cyclops could be an optical illusion the dial looks aligned with the rehaut engravings, but the cyclops also look aligned with the crown. meaning they would both be aligned. ask for a new pic. but that does look like paint loss on the bezel numerals
  17. those arent even their CAD drawings they stole them from ginault, what a scam with 32 suckers "Royal Custom Watches are dramatically enhanced Rolex watches for the purpose of improved durability" are they saying their asian made clone of a rolex workhorse movement has improved durability over the original? their logo print is terrible, dial also says "swiss" and "officially certified", which im pretty sure is a regulated use term, so for being against illegal replicas, theyre still making illegal "swiss" replicas
  18. yeah tremendous job, probably took him a long while to get to that outcome. the problem is the case back and bezel are still too thick for a 5514. GEN so either accept it with its flaws and enjoy it or find a different starting point, if this is your 'grail watch' eventually those flaws will bother you, imo
