  1. yeah i know. but i have seen this before. it was just the example on hand. should there not be a crevice there ? did some models have it ? rep or gen aside. looks like its for a rubber gasket.
  2. anyone happen to know why not ALL millsubs have this crevice in the top mid case?
  3. tap is the way to go... that way you can also make the clover in the suds the widget from guinness is a good idea and has definitely made the canned guinness way more enjoyable, but drinking beer straight from the bottle or can is always a waste anyways.
  4. hmmm watchadoo claims to sell genuine vintage crystals, but ive heard some stuff to the contrary from people that actually restore vintage subs on a different forum. different parts from different sellers is usually what works best. what were you looking for specifically?
  5. im not normally a fan of the 1655, but this looks really nice maybe its the process of building that i like.
  6. looks like the kind with a spring loaded nib that sticks up and add friction against the underside of the bezel ring that is teethed
  7. different things to different people. when i see a clasp i know looks bad it ruins the illusion if you will, then you naturally start wondering about the legitimacy of the rest of the watch. collecting reps to me is about having fun, but its also about painstaking accuracy within somewhat reason, completely irrational and compulsive i know. personally i would hate to hinder the potential of a $400 rep due to a bad looking coronet on a $40 clasp. but kudos to those who dont let little things like that get to them, i truly am envious, i would save a fortune.
  8. the gasket rolex added to the modern incarnations was definitely a good idea
  9. the problem with the pt bracelet is the end link engraving and the clasp stamp, automatically identifying it as a non genuine clasp. thats where the mbk is better. not sure about the divers extension on the PT but the MBK is also pretty decent.
  10. i usually buy 2 8 4 6s freshly serviced and shipped for $70
  11. this is the one i supposedly bought from mary last week then. less than $55 shipped... should be interesting to see what i get in the mail.
  12. doesnt mary sell the same one? only cheaper...
  13. that watch is almost completely useless, shouldnt really be more than a couple grand, everything needs replacing, even the movement is trashed. that crown! MY GOD! ive never seen a crown worn down to that point. youre basically buying it for the case
  14. bracelet is junk. MBK is better but still has its shortcomings. IMO the mbk bracelet is not worth the price, and i mean the dealers cost price, which is why i never sell any, ZERO margin.
  15. the problem with the PT is the dial. date window is too small, and the markers are just wrong and glossy. compare with my spare MBK 1665 dial, when i used to like the 1665, now the watch is in parts all over the place
  16. believe it or not 2mm pin bars is one thing wholesaleoutlet consistently sells right. mine have survived multiple installs without failure, and the price is right.
  17. people who know, know. a good insert will convince even gen sub owners, but enthusiasts and WIS will spot it a mile away.
  18. the non jeweled are for the 17j movements, like the 2846
  19. i find the wish bone in the the hour hand too thick compared to gen, and the minute hand luminous part is too thin. mbk hands are on par with the noobmariner, but i find clarks more accurate. theyre good hands but to me theyre a tell.
  20. its actually pretty nice, i dont know about those "puffy" lume markers though. btw thanks for using 1/2 my monthly bandwidth allowance
  21. theyre both different. i'd say the wm9 is actually better. the mbk dial youre seeing is from a noobmariner, not even originally mbk, as the mbk dials were actually horrible for the 16610. the noobmariner dial is stylized after a 2005 production run of the submariner dial, where as the wm9 is more modern with subtle differences that i dont really want to explain.
