  1. is your security clasp flip lock smooth or patterned(hidden)?
  2. hopefully that next masterpiece is mine ; ) HINT HINT WINK WINK
  3. let the paranoia wash over you, shhhh theyre watching.
  4. it looks like andrew updated the pics on his website as of may 2010 with the 'Explorer I' that you should expect to receive, the most expensive swiss model has the pics of the watch i received. here's the one i got youll notice the P and L fall in alignment horizontally in perpetual and explorer and the E over the D in certified and chronometer. most common gen explorer dials ive seen and on the pre 2010 calendar rep models had a different alignment that was the most common. the woman loves it, and truly you cant really tell the difference between the gen and the rep
  5. the dials on the Explorers available these days arent the same as in the pics on say trustytimes site or josh's, theyre the older incarnation of the explorer I from a few years back with the more common dial alignment, the new ones arent wrong but the dial is less common in comparison to what you'll find on ebay, at least the new revision has the better bracelet and clasp. i got my explorer for my woman here from this trusted dealer, yeah thats right i consider it a womans watch, or boys size. I insist you get the Swiss ETA as i've had nothing but dumb problems with clones and im done with them.
  6. DAMN! thats awesome! this watch is pretty modern except for the 700 crown, so either everythings been service replaced or the crowns been added? how accurate is the folded link bracelet on these? i rather like the folded link look and i know some 5513s had these (NOT RIVETED version)
  7. interesting... i assume the standard NON riveted folded link bracelet was it's successor, same tool, no rivets to deal with. would you happen to have a picture of this folded link tool? it'd be interesting too see.
  8. whats wrong with adjusting the gmt hand? isnt it the independently adjustable hour hand thats problematic?
  9. was that rolexs intention to size them by physically unfolding the links? or were they only selling to people with 8" wrists
  10. thats the other thing about MBK, ALWAYS a tall tale to share about why prices are increasing. i wouldnt take their word for anything, seeing is believing
  11. I demand they open them and check in store, the shop owner who knows my buyer by now expects this and has them preopened for my inspection (by proxy). if you ever find yourself in MBK avoid the shopowners sister, she WILL yell at you for trying to inspect your preordered inventory. Out of my last few shipments all have been GEN ETA except 2 pieces which i(my buyer) caught in store, one was a clone and the other a seagul. to date all the no date models have had the time setting bug where it will not pull out into the time setting position. ive had to decase the modified no date movement and "un" modify them, they may appear to set in store and for a week after you get them but they eventually jam up unless fixed preemptively. worst case you have to file through the crown stem to release it. this is just my personal experience over the last few months of buying several pieces of inventory, im not sure if the most recent batch of movements are only effected by this or what. regardless MBK is becoming marginless to resell, and the cases arent anywhere near perfect either, some exciting things *might* be happening in 2011 with regards to affordable vintage cases and accuracy that's all i will say for now
  12. You wont get an MBK for $200 especially with gen ETA my last order of inventory from MBK also cost a bit more since the store owner is also raising prices and blaming it on the Euro. So if you want a complete running MBK expect to pay $350 w/ Gen ETA i'd also advise against complete running watches from them since ive fixed my share of 5513s from them where the crown wont pull to the time setting posistion because they modify the Gen movements and i personally have to unmodify them with parts or they wont catch and jam up. Theyve also been known to throw in a seagul movement and call it a gen ETA
  13. HOLY CRAP! but i mean... c'mon, you could build something extremely accurate for 1/100th the cost. makes me wonder what ever happened to ian flemings bond sub
  14. i wouldnt worry about it go and play with the gen, theres some sway on the bezel alignment there as well. visit the AD, best way to gauge how accurate your rep feels and functions, might even be surprised by a few things. i'd personally be more OCD'd over the luminous markers being all asymmetrically filled
  15. Take into consideration aftermarket inserts seldom fit bezels properly be it genuine or ortherwise
  16. could always convince yourself its a service insert can you remove the lume from the ofrei pearls and mix in your own concoction?
  17. you mean like this? less than $50 sitting nice and recessed in my MBK bezel, aged slightly, cant see it in this light tho
