What about the really poor looking case back inscription? I never saw anything so bad. You can buy a Vietnamese assymetrical rep case for the v72 and Rolex bridges on one of those auction sites like youbuyit or whatever its called. You can take any 72b movement and add those bridges. I would not bet on this being real - not for 28k.

The diamond bezel alone would cost 3k and as Freddy said everything would be white gold or platinum. The diamonds can be tested easy with a diamond wand, gold asnd platinum are heavier then any rep. As for the watch no matter how good a Rolex looks - you have to see the movement and the serial number to compare to the published list. Just my 3c...

Take a look at this watch. The inside caseback looks like somebody punched those letters one by one, so uneven. The bridge on the movement is probably new, so it could be any valjoux 72 movement. My 1950's model from Silix - I changed to the rivet bracelet, the one that came with it was a modern fliplock clasp bracelet... I like how slim the case is on this model compared to the newer ones.

To be a certified Swiss Chronometer the watch has to be within +-5 sec per day (that is a total of 10 seconds variety). Most other automatic watches try to stay within +- 10 sec and anything within that range is totaly fine. As much as I am changing watches it really does not matter anyways to me.

As long as the lenses are plastic they will not let any UV light through, that is just the nature of plexiglas. For all you watch guys: that is also the reason why UV glue will not work with plastic crystals - the UV light to harden the glue does not go through the crystal.

Well - I see lots of people with real nice watches when travelling. If you want to see quantity go to Vegas or Waikiki, even in the plane people are flaunting it. But I also see the occasional University Lab student with the gold Daytona - maybe he has rich parents. Or another Lab guy has a nice Submariner - maybe he saved all year for it, who knows. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and you hardly will get a close enough look to be certain its a rep...and never ask unless you know them!

Totally agree with that - why on earth did they have to change the hand sizes on the 28,800? It would be the perfect movement otherwise. But for quality - the later 21,600 are just as well made as the 28,800 and everything fits!

I agree with t - don't worry about it... Now the other way around is different - the German customs: man oh man!

Well - as you can read on the scam thread - the Admin of RG still refuses to shut him down. They say he will sort it all out! So he must have some powers of convincing people he is for real.
