  1. anybody have a decent rep of the Pam 86? I used to own the gen and am going to build a franken. Thinking about what base to use.
  2. Yes, the strap on your watch looks cheap. Check out paneristi and viapaneristi and grab 2 or 3 straps. They are only $100 to $200 for great straps.
  3. it is! And, I've got papers for a 1985. Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk
  4. My latest franken assembled by my friend Ephry. The build specs are: ST case with lugs drilled for gen spring bars. The lugs were softened just a little to give a nice, aged appearance. The dial and hands are genuine tritium. It doesn't glow, but I love the older dial. This one has aged well with a creamy look to the indicies. The DW and crystal are gen- sourced from a friend/watch maker in NYC. The insert is also gen with perfect age appropriate fading. Crown & tube are of course real- as is the bracelet. I found a gen 93150 from 1998, so it's much newer, but it was the right price and is nearly NOS. The movement: I should have taken pictures, but the movement was done by Miskopied and started as a yuki 3135. He added a genuine auto wind module as well as gen hour/minute/second wheels. The movement is as close to gen as you can get! It keeps time to within rolex specs and the power reserve is fantastic. I have a correct box/papers set for this model and it's quickly become my favorite beater. I'll try to take a few more pictures, but for now . . .
  5. pm me if you're interested in a daytona build. I've put 3 together and it's a fun project.
  6. How many others have added gen crown and lever? Results?
  7. what are the essential elements of a Franken Pam? I've got a 104 with gen dial and I'm thinking about adding a gen crown & lever. Will this give it that correct, tight feel of a gen?
  8. looking for a hands set for my 104 franken. PM if you have something- or if you know of a source. Thanks!
  9. Anybody? Is this an easy fix? Sent from my LGLS990 using Tapatalk
  10. Im thinkimg about buying a 104 with a gen swiss chronometer movement. Will I be able to add gen hands?
  11. I tend to always do dial first. To me the dial is always a giveaway. Next I go for crown and crystal. Sent from my GT-P5113 using Tapatalk
  12. Steve is in jail? Such a weird case. I bought a gen 1680 from him and it was a perfect sale. I wonder if he just got in trouble somehow.
  13. Semi franken 16520 doesn't work. Movement will be the most difficult part of the conversion. Finished it will cost around $5k but the gen is 10k
  14. Bob, sorry to hear about your dad. Prayers for you and the family.
  15. :-! I've got a few of these. it's so much fun to wear.
  16. I applaud your stance and I'll take all of the parts off your hands.
  17. it will happen, but I first heard this more than 10 years ago.
  18. I looked for your comparison but didn't see it. Did you remove it?
  19. which dial? have been thinking about taking that plunge . . .
  20. ha! i'll try to take a few pics of this one. I sized that picture for my avatar . . .
  21. I've had gen GMT's 4 or 5 times! Love the vintage GMT- I'm wearing my Rolex Addict franken right now!
  22. Saw this post http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/105962-fs-genuin-93250-bracelet/ . This was a sales thread from 5 years back- a 93250 selling for $525. It got me to thinking about watches/pieces I've owned. What's the watch that you most regret selling? I'll start with one: in 2000 I had an all original pointed crown guard GMT and sold it for $800. This piece was beautiful with a perfectly aged insert and a dial that had gone chocolate brown. At the time- that was a decent price . . . but it still hurts. Any other memories?
  23. http://www.watchgeek.com/bezels.htm right- I've searched and found a little data, but have also found different data/opinion. Google isn't always that reliable . . . . . . .
  24. no, i'm thinking about the bezel ring. interior and exterior dimensions.
